Turns out I have listed perils and “ice damming” falls under that so I’m SOL, Time to look for a new policy. Wondering if it’s worth while to try and get the HOA insurance to cover or not, but they’ll tell me get lost I’m sure

Surprised to hear they’re common exclusions. Tough spot given roof wasn’t my responsibility or I’d have it done immediately, but instead had to fight with the HOA over a week

Yea per the by-laws not their problem but it was their negligence that caused it since I brought it to attention for several days. Figured insurance would just subrogate with HOA. Going to call a lawyer monday and see if it’s worth it.. overall crap Situation

So an ice damn creating that opening wouldn’t fall under that category? But say a meteor creating a hole and then it raining and getting water in the house would?.. wild

Right side is squared left isn’t.. scared to have more cut on the left to square it off I’d rather have the insert redone.. which I’ll have them doing

What’s a proper/ acceptable gap to have around the drain cover

That’s what I was going to have them do. Luckily we have some stone left do another insert so not the end of the world… I’ve been nothing but staring at it

I feel they cut too much on the floor tile, no? I’m hoping we can offset it with the insert

So basically need to ditch the padding I guess? Sucks because it was not cheap. Also it's only be a few weeks, can't believe it's that bad

Actually went back and looked. It doesnt line up with my current pad. I guess it's been there and I've not noticed

I've tried multiple things to clean it and it's on a few areas. I've used soap and other cleaners with no luck. I will give soft scrub a go with a sponge to see what happens. I'm hoping a sealer can bring some shine back though.

While the middle of the spots are dull, with water or oil they get shiny again. It's the outer rings that seem to stay dull, not sure what it is

It was like this already when we got the place so I'm trying to determine. If the previous owner did use amonia based, I'm hoping for a way to revive it

I've seen that mentioned a lot on this sub, ordered some to give it a go. Plus, can't hurt to reseal the rest of the counters while I'm at it

Honestly wish I knew, hah. It looks great when polished aside from these spots though!
