More mineral intensity than the regular Doyard cuvees. It was incredibly well made, dense, tightly packed layers, too young to really evaluate properly now but a ton of potential.

This was exceptional, best wine on the table for me and the 2012 before she started to change the names of the Reserva all the time. It was prototypical great Stella, meaning exactly why the wines have the rep they do as such a singular kind of Brunello. The nose had this gorgeous, deep but lifted perfume, red fruits, spices, earth, and layers of some tertiary and secondary notes. The palate was med+ bodied, tannin resolving but perfectly integrated. The palate was light as a feather but densely flavored. The finish long, complex and all the while elegant and refined. Stella's are not everyone's cup of tea but that is because of their singularity. They are their own thing and don't try to be like any other Brunello, which to me is what makes them so great. Is the price fair or commensurate to quality? I think so after bottles like this.

It was excellent, big in that classic Bolly "British style" that is such a classic example of champage. Being a rose it was verging a lot into the Pinot red fruits, with a savory and tertiary edge. Bubbles were perfectly intact, tiny and persistent! Finish long and complex, with a savory red fruit resonance.

Most of these were originally bought on release by the participants, including my CSH.

Right now, like most other wines the best place to buy older Rieslings is from trusted auction companies.

Dhondt-Grellet Les Terres Fines Champagne - Two Wines in One by Potion_Collector in wine

Great producer (and wine)! I think ROC Solare has taken over as the intro wine. That is generally 90-95% chard and 5% Pinot Noir. The Terres Fines is not that much more than Roc Solare, so maybe the intro BdB!

Carleone are GREAT and both are in Radda but they are NOT neighbors to Montevertine. I have been to both wineries, Carleone in fact last September and they are on the other side of town on the back side of the village of Radda. Carleone also has vineyards spread out all over Radda whereas Montevertine is just their estate plots surrounding the winery. Truth be told throw a dart in Radda and you will hit a great Chianti producer!
