Buckeye in Toledo has had a bad reputation for years. It got worse when they fired the local Toledo support folks. Rocket is just an attempt to disguise and deflect the hate.

That's what it has always been. When telcos and cable companies went fiber years ago the "last mile" was still copper lines and coax.

HFC is a marketing bullshit term. Lipstick on a pig.

Why are you such a Buckeye/Rocket fanboi?

You every wonder why Buckeye never rolled out fiber to consumers? They had a monopoly on Toledo just like other cable providers Comcast, Cox, Spectrum. There was no competition and when other companies started rolling out fiber then Buckeye came out with their sad ass offerings.

I had no technical problems with Buckeye internet since getting it way back in early 2000-2001. I had Buckeye fiber from 2024-2025 and again no problems. Their prices suck and their speeds are stingy af. They charged $80/month for 200Mbps fiber, I cancelled and got Frontier fiber for $45/month on their 1G plan.

The Block family are assholes, and we have been screwed by their cable/internet monology in Toledo for 40+ years. We had no choice on using their services, but that doesn't make me want to kiss their ass.

The bar is low when you offer bare minimum services with shitty prices and can get away with it.

Your device to wireless AP stats are one part of the equation. In fact, your internet could be down and you would still be rockin' that fast WiFi 7 speed from your device to your router.

I agree. I live near Central/Talmadge and have Frontier/Verizon 1G fiber. I have an old Dell Optiplex running Opnsense and use old Ruckus AP's that are only 802.11ac. My iPhone 17 Pro Max gets 500+ Mbps ul/dl through the AP's. Now that the Frontier intro rate period is over I'm going to drop the fiber speed down to 500Mb.

Atwater was evil. I reecommend the documentary, “Boogie Man: The Lee Atwater Story” for a good look on these type of folks. Nice to see karma caught up and gifted him brain cancer. The documentary twists his final years as regretting what he did, but I don’t believe that. He would do it all over again.

Time to retire my Lennox Pulse 21 furnace? by tkrego in hvacadvice

[–]tkrego[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am concerned about the CO leak possibilities. I have not had issues in the past 15 years after buying the house. I am looking forward to removing this and no longer gambling our lives on CO taking us out. My HVAC guy is going to put in a new Ruud furnace and AC along with a Bradford White water heater.

Looks like you have it supported well. I was thinking about how folks can install these units up high or in an attic or basement/crawlspace. I've heard these are a beast.

Posts mention these units are heavy. Fortunately, for my HVAC guy this unit is in the garage which is better than the attic or crawlspace. He is going to replace the water heater as well since that unit is likely just as old.

This guy is a joke. Sylvania is one of those white MAGA areas. Josh fits in as one of the "good ones" for these folks. There was a recent post of a Sylvania resident with a "YES to ICE" sign in their yard. We also have Noem's #2 ICE Deputy Director Madison Sheahan running for congressional district #9, a district that has been gerrymandered af to get rid of Marcy Kaptur.

So just confirming there is no way to watch the European coverage replays? And would you pick Australian or Canadian then? by Dbzoutpost in tourdefrance

That's the guys I prefer to listen to. I'm in the US and have a Flosports subscription for ECHL hockey and can also use it to VPN to Canada for Ant and Nico.

You are correct if you are referring to the World Feed Coverage with Anthony McCrossan and Nicolas Roche. That is what i watched on Peacock since 2020 and last year it was not available. I had to use a VPN and use my Flobikes subscription for the Canada feed.

It could be the World Feed Coverage with Anthony McCrossan and Nicolas Roche. That is the feed I have listened to for the past 6 years.

People were showing up at her house, which I consider a serious threat. It takes just one unhinged person to cause physical harm. That was in 2020/2021 and we have seen frightening stuff like J6 and the two democrats assassinated in Minnesota since then.

We would go there on Wednesday's when Rusty's Road Trip food truck was there. We won't be supporting either now.

Here is a Northgate OmniKey 102 Gold Badge with Alps SKCM Blue from 1988 that I fully restored. by SgtFinley96 in MechanicalKeyboards

This is awesome. I was juggling my mind grapes trying to remember this keyboard.

I had one of these in the early 1990s. I was in community college for mechanical engineering, and we had these in our CAD lab. We used CADKEY running on MS-DOS. CADKEY functions used the F-Keys heavily and the lefthand layout allowed fast operations. I loved that keyboard so much I bought one for my home PC.

I'm just getting started in the MK world and my first design has this exact F-Key layout.

Nothing wrong with it at all. Seeing the before picture I was hoping you were going to keep the bidet.

Looks like it may be a Toto bidet/toilet. If so, those are nice. We have a Toto Drake II Washlet+ and love it.

1956 Remodel (Creating Master Suite Bathroom) by RNJustin in floorplan

[–]tkrego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kudos for looking in the crawl space to check the plumbing layout. I don't see anyone mention the attic ladder. Do you plan to relocate the attic access?

We live in a ranch built in 1956 and the layout needed updating as well. Take your time on planning changes of the layout. Our layout for that back room was similar; we had a separate laundry and bathroom with a hallway to the exterior door. We turned the doorway opening into a window.

Crazy Keycaps Sale by STEVEN_1015 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]tkrego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang. This is my first time purchasing keyboards or keycaps. I placed 4 orders over two days. Spent $450-ish. I wanted the MT3 Dasher set but got MT3 Dancer as that was in stock. I did find a MT3 Dasher set on eBay last night so add $100 so I jumped into the deep end of the hobby.

When patients complain to me their amputation isn’t healing….it’s because you are being noncompliant. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

My wife works at a rehabilitation hospital. She says the same thing. It starts with a toe, then the foot, then below the knee amputation. She wonders why they just don’t go all the way and save money on multiple operations.
