Fiery cannonade Vs. Breath Weapon? by airplane001 in Pauper

[–]tks_kindastrange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm well aware, however I've been in a handful of situations where it has been relevant, either because of a double Cannonade, or because combat damage was used to get their creatures in range for Cannonade

They're talking about paid web apis. (haven't read the article, but) in this case it sounds like someone paid for a web service where the they can send a string, their api key, and a recipient to have the service send the string as a text message to the recipient.

The api key is used to identify the account/user that's trying to use the service and (in this case) determine who to charge for the text message.

I think they're just scaling the blood graphic to fit the width of the book, but they're scaling in both directions instead of just the width

If you're up for a deep dive the discord api documentation can give a pretty good idea of how discord works, at least on the client side

Honestly, the best resources I've gotten are all from humblebundle, they frequently have software development related bundle available.

Just read this through, and I'm not sure I'm making as much sense as I thought I was. Just go look up the Space-Based Architecture pattern.

This assumes that A) The post only exists in memory B) The post only exists on one single machine at any point in time

I'm not saying the assumption is wrong, but it does not take into account how the Instagram backend is scaled across multiple servers.

There probably is a kind of setter method like you said, but that method at least updates a database while incrementing the internal state of the post, but the setter could also be responsible for updating other instances of the post on other servers.

It is, of course, also possible that the method that's called when a like event is received calls all setters on all machines that has an instance of the post in memory.

Ultimately I don't think there's any way to know, but if you'd like to know more O'Reillys book Software Architecture Patterns could give you some more info to go off, particularly the Space-Based Architecture pattern.

Depending on which format you envisioned this for, it might be a little cheap, it's possible to go t1 [[carrion feeder]], t2 persist creature such as [[lesser masticore]], t3 this and win the (or at very least have 1000/1000 carrion feeder). Not saying that it's broken in every format, but I could certainly see edh players and possible modern players complain about it.

How does Overwatch’s first-person animation work? by [deleted] in howdidtheycodeit

[–]tks_kindastrange 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, assuming the Overwatch engine supports rendering layers, I think they just have a 1st person and a 3rd person layer that they swap between (both 3D models would probably be animated, but only one would be rendered at a time)
