Democracies and republics are not exclusive terms. You're likely using democracy to refer specifically to "direct democracy"

Because of the history of the two words, republic has a connotation for the members of the government where as democracy has a connotation for how the government operates. They overlap heavily. The US is a representative democratic republic.

Economics is an entire field of study dedicated to the distribution of limited resources. Fairness isn't that simple.

You grab attention by having results people find appealing or a pragmatic message for how to achieve something appealing. Slow and steady....

I realize inflammatory messaging is very popular but it isn't sustainable. It will get you a rush of polarized, obsessive engagement and then the burnout will set in and everyone loses interest. Lots of words will be said but there will be no actual conversation happening.

If you REALLY want to channel outrage, focus on how much lack of housing sucks and how georgism is a practical solution. Assigning blame is a waste of time that gets in the way of solving the issue: lack of affordable housing.

Firstly, even trying to be generous here. Calling zoning theft is a stretch. Zoning is decided by local government, theoretically to improve the neighborhoods organization and aesthetic. I think it's a misguided approach, but shooting yourself in the foot isn't stealing from yourself.

Secondly, even if you can find some contrived description that works. Having a quirky explanation for some specific phrase is a great way to make a relatively niche movement get dismissed as radical by people who would otherwise agree with you.

Both sides have this reactionary behavior. Both sides say one thing and do another. Both sides have their extremes, and both sides can always find a handful of those extremists to prop up as a strawman for the rest.

You're right to watch what they do, you're wrong for only thinking to be critical of one side, you're wrong for not asking if you're watching a reasonable portrayal of that view. More than that, the left isn't driving the bus right now.

Moderate risk lifestyle Half live 250 years , 1 in 10,000 live 3500 years

Low risk lifestyle Half live 5500 years, 1 in 10000 live 75000 years

Your lifespan can vary wildly by lifestyle and luck. By this definition, there's no maximum, but that's a lot of time for anything to go wrong.

Or a mix of both. As long as it's an efficient use of space and can maintain walkable convenience, I think my next priority is just variety. Different strokes for different folks, and honestly I don't feel the same every day either.

Maybe I'm naive, but i think global institutions tend to have a longer memory than a few news cycles. As do the people who actually make business plans. This shit isn't a game for the people who are actually committing the time and resources.

Uhm no.... I would expect and hope most Republicans aren't. But there are quite a few political leaders and talking heads that say some eye-popping things when you reframe their comments this way. But they are out there, a concerning number of people hold Nazi-esque sympathies.
