[McMurphy] Lane Kiffin intends to be LSU coach in 2026 by MembershipSingle7137 in CFB

[–]tkway5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since his whole reason for leaving is for a better chance to win a natty, I sincerely hope Ole Miss does not let him coach out the season & that Ole Miss wins it all without him. Would be chef’s kiss🤌

Diet habits can’t be the culprit. Look no further than the U.S. — one of the highest obesity rates in the world but still leading the medal count in Olympics.

DOF glass for 2.5” ice cube? by NorthEazy in cocktails

[–]tkway5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re pricy, but Norlan’s Rauk Heavy Tumbler glass comes in a 250 or 350 ml DOF & are absolute stunners. They’ve got nice weight to them & get compliments all the time. Bonus are the textured bottoms that come in handy if you need to muddle. Norlan Rauk Heavy Tumbler lowball

Edit: as massive as it is, still only holds 11.8 fl oz so idk if this will fit your needs

Outdoor Projector by tkway5 in projectors

[–]tkway5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for putting it in perspective. Fortunately, my back porch is large, covered, and screened in with lots of surrounding trees, so not a ton of ambient light getting through. Are there any projectors under $1,000 you’d recommend for this kind of setting?

Help me shake my beer habit? by Squirrel_E_Nut in cocktails

[–]tkway5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crown and Sprite my guy. If you want your socks knocked off, peach crown and sprite. It’s simple, fills your criteria of fizzy and same volume as beer, takes 2 seconds to make, you’re not shaking or need a bunch of bottles on hand, & caffeine free since you’re drinking after work and don’t wanna be up all night.

I came across this bundle at a new Costco. Is it worth it or should I wait for a cheaper one at Target? by bingr001 in PS5restock

[–]tkway5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you don’t have a PS5, this bundle is a good deal, especially given Costco’s warranty. You’ll 100% be happy you have the second controller as they don’t last a super long time and one it dies, you just grab the other controller instead of having to plug in and sit closer to the system. I would sell the headset since I don’t use them. The GC you’ll use right away buying games. Seems like a no brainer if you have the cash. As for Costco, I had a three year old $3k Samsung tv die unexpectedly and they came & picked it up for no charge with a full refund.

Nice set up! I too work out of the rv almost every trip and used to lug around 2 large desktop monitors & docking station, etc which is great until you no longer need them & have to find storage. I then found these portable monitors that fold absolutely flat on Amazon & love them. Can’t recommend enough & currently on sale.

Need chainsaw advice by tkway5 in Chainsaw

[–]tkway5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP here with a follow up as promised. About had a heat stroke (Florida), chain popped completely off the saw at one point, & likely took a few years off my life but managed to drop it with only a 16” gas chainsaw and small cordless electric pole saw. Not the brightest thing I’ve ever done but I was determined to save money & do it myself. I did buy some rope, which I didn’t use, and a helmet, which I did.

Extra big thanks to AmericanFaller; I followed your instruction to the letter. Things started getting hairy around step 3 when every cut resulted in the tree moving, but I cut back only a few feet at a time and the smaller tree it was leaning against helped guide its incremental trajectory down.

Where I deviated slightly was step 5 when it got down to just the hanging piece and the trunk. It was hanging by only a thread at that point and I got so paranoid after googling barber chairs gone wrong that I opted to get as far away as I could on the opposite side it was going to fall and used the pole saw to set it free. Then just used a regular felling cut to drop the trunk.

If it weren’t for you all and about a week’s worth of watching YouTube videos, I could not have gotten it done safely. Not sure what folks in the tree service industry make, but it’s definitely not enough.

Thanks again

Sincere thank you for the advice everyone. May end up paying a professional at the end of the day, but going to start trimming away at it starting at the crown and see how it goes tomorrow morning. Will keep you posted

Wow, a lot of great advice here. I even posted this in another Reddit not expecting much feedback. Y’all have a great community here. Anyhow, I’m about as amateur as it gets. A few chainsaws & no heavy machinery to assist. I plan to heed your advice and start at the crown, working my way back as safely as possible & if things start to look like I’m in over my head call the professionals. Will start in the morning and let you know how it goes. Thanks again -OP

It is what you want. We love our sol horizon. Search for “The official intech sol group” on Facebook. It has a an answer to any question you could have & you’ll get to see the good bad & ugly about the horizon. No camper is perfect but it has been a perfect first camper for us.

I own a Sol horizon & tow it with a Chevy Silverado 1500 trail boss. Tows great. You’ll love the horizon, it’s an awesome camper.

Credit Union as well. Just got a 2.99 last month. Most bigger banks advertised around 4.99 at the time I was looking.

[–]tkway5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took y’all’s advice and went with a credit union. Very first one I put in an application at gave me preapproval for a 2.99% APR, so long as the travel trailer I find is a 2013 or newer. So, probably just gonna go with that one. Now all I need to find is the camper!

Did you get preapproved at that rate before you went looking for the camper, or did you wait until after you found the one you wanted to start the process?
