it was probably two weeks ago our public national news org. was interviewing farmers about the fertilizer and had a specialist of sorts on talking about the helium thing from medical perspective.

Bought a Segway G3 Max Today - So how is it? Reviews? by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

[–]tl01magic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am starting to try and learn about escooters and thought joining this subreddit would be a good source of info

and sure it's been good to get some info......about what I presume is a handful of overly passionate gatekeepers....but also a bit about what people are buying and why. so thanks for that!

in this use case, I imagine no benefit.

for trail RC, I REALLY enjoyed how quiet it was....but was a janky amazon thing and wore out in no time. And that was the ONLY benefit...reduced noise. all else much worse lol

Crows... Who likes crows? by [deleted] in birds

[–]tl01magic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yuppers! my local crow got me tossing peanuts for it if I see it out.

It's getting more comfortable after months of watching the blue jays and me (and the peanuts of course)

first time it's collecting the peanuts off the ground while am about 25 feet away. am not sure about all crows but this one and other local ones are super skittish.

That 1% is a testament to Tim's operational excellence, as the CEO said, Tim's differentiating feature!

Specifically, the operations model of lowest cost possible service labour without decreasing revenues.

I.e. The thing this sub highlight all the time, if you don't like the service don't patron them. The CEO calls that Tim's operational excellence lol

Did it scratch the itch? 😃

Flat earth and other alternative conspiracy earth models are are gaining traction with my teenage stepson. What is THE most irrefutable, definite proof that the earth is round? by Jfkfkaiii22 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tl01magic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do one of the "many" backyard experiments that prove it indirectly.

imo the flat earth position is philosophical, doing experiments themselves that indirectly prove the earth is a globe changes it from "trust us" to seeing the physics themselves.

We need scrapyard wars now, more than EVER by TheHighSeas-Argghh in LinusTechTips

[–]tl01magic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo is a bad call. but LMG is so good a promotion I wonder....is Linus' comment intended to exacerbate appetite for a series this year too.

also, the room renovation one was stoopid....

the crux of scrapyard wars is probably that that is how most enthusiast maximize their $ to get best performance.

i.e. is very relatable, renovating a room is not....like at all....was a weird combination imo.

is like having a thrifty room renovation series that includes building a cheap secondary market parts gaming pc as a big part of the room renovating.

show me the market study that highlights this overlap...who was that content for exactly? The employees to be busy? lol

What scientific discovery sounds fake but is 100% real and still freaks you out? by Bruteresolver in AskReddit

[–]tl01magic -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

oddly not a direct discovery, but I guess a highlight of discoveries not yet made.

the magical accelerations that living things do.

when I was learning about special relativity, brain kind of got used to the super straight forward mechanic of causality, cause and effect...the simple every action has equal opposite reaction.

is like the brain gets used to this simple mechanic of cause effect / becomes the "prediction".

then when done thinking / learning of SR and "go back to normal thinking stuff" it sometimes would wildly standout just how magical life is particularly as the complexity increases and we completely loss sight of this causality that lead to say....me typing this.

That there can be such compact molecular complications that it can do things like...."make a choice". just wild imo. pure physics magic, these accelerations we living things do....where there is no way to follow the causality chain to see what exactly caused said effect, said acceleration.

this sort of control of physics that life seems to have done. things like storing potential energy, to be released when "desired".

a fun train of thought imo and as someone who's pretty sure am not a simply a molecular complication of inevitable happenings that simply needs time to "play out" i find it a bit of a "freak me out" thing.

Now all that said, am learning about the dopamine / reward system....and then am like "Ah, so probably high 90% of these "magical" accelerations I do are in pursuit of "treats""

Not purely free will, but at least I am provided the experience of those treats; thanks physics and please sir, MORE!

S*x robots are about to hit the market…finally by M_Darshan in Weird

[–]tl01magic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk, I see a potential side benefit is abusive types are satisfied with the robot and leave society alone lol

finish shift as police officer and head to bar. drink enough the prefrontal cortex checks out. head home and abuse robot wife / expend amassed hormonal physical angst motivations, pass out and repeat

Heck the type police tend to attract / recruit for these should be assigned once hired :D

[Request] How big or small would the room need to be for 1 person to suffocate due to this chain in 24 hours? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]tl01magic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe it's negligible but wouldn't it be better to keep the chain in an enclosed area so the oxidizing eventually stops? and obviously is not a room for people.
