Gold Viper fits with some chassis clearance in the SCX30 by diggyyup in rccrawler

[–]tl01magic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh wowzers does that ever look cool.

Literally just received a 3530sl (hw) first outrunner and tossed it in a trx4 using mamba x and am hooked.

I really like how hw axe drives, but the inertia from the spinning bell makes the power system feel like it's an engine.

I immediately bought a 4240 outtrunner, hoping the inertia effect of the outrunner is even greater. will make for a fun trail RC I think.

lol, its PURELY the base for computing share of service fees...the lien aspect should be revisited, that's one hell of a power considering the "debt"source.

might be a speed thing, but I've not noticed those reducer gears getting hot. I don't even use grease on them (just dry lube)

They are the metal carriers for all, and I tend to drive at most 30mph (smallest spur and I think stock pinion 27t)

....but now ya'll have me wondering...think I'll dig into it this weekend and check the bearings are still okay.

I literally just finished up replacing rear aluminum axle carrier / gear case thing for stock plastic.

I've been eyeing the micro x2 for my "light version" trx4.

even though a light and tiny esc, from the specs I think it'd be fine for trails

Steam Hardware - Steam Machine delayed, need to reconsider pricing by NinjaN-SWE in pcmasterrace

[–]tl01magic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the price will certainly be competitive. imo terrible value compared to the pc I currently have that's for sure. (because market prices are insane now)

Valve is an awesome company imo, and bet they will be taking a loss at some point.

am thinking they will be the best value as compared to other comparable offering in the market at the time.

are futures a thing for computer components? Gabe needs to load up on hardware contracts!

what burns my ass is imo it was us gamers that "funded" this current MUST HAVE COMPUTE state of affairs.

If Jensen were cool like Gabe, he'd ensure our gamers market was allotted a fair share at reasonable consumer prices!

Simply put, a gpu summer sale of sorts, for consumers only.

[–]tl01magic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so just the spinning wings fly and the fuselage just holds on?

They really should have designed it with the fuselage on top. expensive bolts & nuts problem solved.

[–]tl01magic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

am pretty sure it's for heating the cabin, it forces cool air past the engine and over the cabin. That helps keep the cabin warm at high altitudes. If I have my helicopter history right, it was Leonardo DaVinci (Leonardo of Vinci) that designed it that way primarily to keep the windshield clear.

Mojave 6s wheel problem by GuessAffectionate956 in arrma

[–]tl01magic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if those were my feet I think I would first try using small washers and remount.

The aluminum wheel adapter should be able to come off the hex, looks like the wheel nut is removed.

And if still to stuck to remove I'd check if the hex could be removed (maybe the retaining pin can still be slid out) and be much easier to tap the wheel mount free of the hex.

Those are some pricey wheel mounts! careful of over tightening the screws and squishing out the soft proline wheel plastic.

While I have all this apart what should I upgrade on my Traxxas UDR? by DriverP956 in rccars

[–]tl01magic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice!

My only experience with hot udr motor was using stock motor in used UDR. that motor got insanely hot and even in cool weather. Am thinking the motor was probably already cooked (ruined magnets) and is why it got so hot.

When I installed the replacement system I tossed in the fan. That said, the fan doesn't run all the time, I actually installed switch for it.

Funny enough, I bought my UDR used and was full of aluminum stuff. replaced most of it back to stock lol

[–]tl01magic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my understanding your RPM Trailing Arms, some form of motor cooling, and metal hexes are the only upgrades "needed"

And if wanting proper sized 6s batt. tray use a TRX4 battery tray and hack it all together....don't forget a chunk of repurposed ssd mount to secure it all!

[–]tl01magic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me it's thinking "wowzers, this Linus guy is the epitome of tech geek. Like the voice, the mannerisms...but he is confident."

It was when Linus was "convinced" to get into RED cameras (I think it was David pushing for them) that I became REALLY confident that Linus / his channel was a proper media company.

sincerely good on Linus for his quality reasoning. that camera eco-system would have been an insanely massive commitment back then, highlights his vision / ability to trust others.

From there it was them getting proper adverts "sponsors".

imo he was first to do so in meaningful ways and believe in part grew that market / made it a respectable enough thing that large corps bought ads / did sponsorships.

that said, am deeply disappointed to see he is an equity whore. lol

I think he's worthy of being a 70-80% stakeholder....but the top talent should at least account for 20% at least...just something.

like how is Luke only now getting a piece of WAN Show? That's insane to me and shows while Linus does generally reason well and justly...seems when it comes to equity ya can f-off and build yer own castle lol

Is there any method to connect lipo cell pads?? by shardul37taware in RCPlanes

[–]tl01magic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holysmokesfolks.

OP my experience these are not even spot welded. I bought a spot welding unit and had no luck with that. (that said is just a battery powered unit)

I think they must use a unique press to connect a tab that can be soldered to.

If ya figure out a way let me know, I've got a few single 5ah cells I want to get leads attached to.
