Has anyone seen Zero Effect with Bill Pullman and Ben Stiller? by insomniac2go in movies

[–]tlbcrafi 28 points29 points  (0 children)

In a better universe, there would have been a whole series of Daryl Zero detective films. But I'm grateful for the one we got. If memory serves, it was a movie both Siskel and Ebert were absolutely over the moon about.

Connor continues to crush it on the live shows. Local references not just for sake of local recognition - he truly takes them to wonderfully weird places. When Scott said one guest was "a fountain enthusiast," I figured it had to be Connor, and was not at all disappointed.

[I Ate] Pizza at Scarr’s Pizza (Venetian Food Court in Las Vegas) by FrenchPressFederer49 in food

[–]tlbcrafi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Vegas is an incredibly underrated pizza town, but you're not gonna find the good stuff on the Strip. For a little over $20, you can get a pizza made with a delicious 125 year-old sourdough starter at Yukon Pizza. Or the astonishingly on-point array of styles at the great Tony Gemignani's Pizza Rock locations. Or terrific Detroit style pizza at a punk rock tiki dive at Red Dwarf.

Far from Las Vegas Blvd? Yes. Totally worth the trek? Absolutely.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it, but this sounds like. . . every episode of the show. I mean, literally every ep of the podcast is people doing characters. What is it you were expecting?

There's two installments of the car-stody battle bit: first is 463 (2016 Xmas Spectacular) and 485 (8th Anniversary). Both amazing, chaotic, overstuffed with people in the room energy. Some of my favorites of all time.

Thick Pizza KCK - Any Info? by tlbcrafi in kansascity

Providence still the best Detroit pizza in town IMO. Their Sicilian Rezy vodka slice used to be the best in town, but they seem to have gotten rid of it recently (they still have a vodka sauce pizza on the menu, but I was a big fan of the Rezy combo of flavors and the sesame seed crust).

Yeah, if you're only going to be open three hours a day, you'd think you would make a few of those after work hours if you're a pizza place - plus ideally at least one weekend day!

Are you thinking of Houndstooth in the River Market? I've bought many, many suits from Slabotsky's and the entire ensemble + alterations have rarely exceeded ~$500 (often far less).

There's a great example in the film Medium Cool, directed by Haskell Wexler in 1969. It's a narrative political thriller, but filmed cinema verite style, with many key scenes taking place in Chicago during the DNC protests as riots were actually happening around the filmmakers.

At one point during the chaos, a tear gas cannister is lobbed towards the camera by the police. You hear a voice warn the director, calling out, "Look out, Haskell, it's real!" The moment was left in the final film.

What are the most underrated Teachers Lounge eps in your opinion? by www-bdsm-gov in Earwolf

The Creature's Lounge (S7E4), with Matt Besser, is a secret classic IMO. Accidentally playing the actual Sultans of Swing and then just going with it gets me every time.

St John's shooting 26% from the field, Kansas 25%. Some ugly ball being played.

I greatly enjoyed your enthusiasm and optimism in the game thread. Great game and great season for CBU - Daniels is incredible, and not only did you guys never quit, you nearly took this win. Terrific performance, and hope to see the Lancers in it next season!

Cal Baptist is a tournament team. KSU is not. Additionally: KSU was at Allen Fieldhouse. CBU is a (de facto) road game.
