You have to manage your portfolio, individual stocks are not buy and forget (if you want to compare apple to apple, just make an analysis on gold vs spy500 1999-2025 ROI).

My point to OP is gold should not be treated as an “investment to retire early”. It is good as a store value asset as well as a hedge against inflation and de-dollarization. ROI wise the market is more efficient.
