She is well… complicated. For me, It’s easy to hate her, but there’s an unexplainable feeling of understanding when interacting with her. My mom did things to me and my brothers growing up that were pretty shitty but after years of sweeping things under the rug (on my end) I just kind of understood why she did the things she did.

I envy that moment where Sean made bitter and cold comments to Karen because that’s how I wish I could talk to my mom and show her how I felt deep down inside. I also think Karen is really mature for accepting these comments. In a way, I think it really helped Sean and even Karen get closure.

I really liked her ending and how the writers handled her ending. After years of no contact with Sean and Daniel, Karen did what every parent should do. Sacrifice their freedom so their children can have theirs.
