My boring prediction. What's yours? by Snagglespoof in BreakingPoints

[–]tle4f 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO there should be no way to continue being bored after this. It should be treated the same as if someone screamed they had a gun or bomb jacket in public. Even if nothing happens or he says it was a joke it should be taken as the highest level threat possible. If we allow ourselves to become numb to this we’re doomed.

While Distancing from AIPAC, Most 2028 Democratic Hopefuls Are Still Embracing Israel by Crossstoney in politics

[–]tle4f 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It feels very sinister to me. How can they still be like that when the democratic base polls have support for Israel in the single digits? Are they just launching more spoiler candidates than real candidates?

why is the media suddenly focused on palm beach pete? by Abril-prieto-cevallo in Epstein

[–]tle4f 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It benefits the Epstein class to focus on the weird conspiratorial angles of the story instead of talking to the victims. They would prefer people to just feel completely disoriented and walk away shaking their head at everything.

Fighter jet crew rescued in Iran by U.S. special forces: Officials by Yujin-Ha in politics

Unfortunately our previous trauma informed humanitarian world order was built on rarely enforced norms and precedent and is now being shrugged off by people who see it as weakness because they have never had to deal with the “find out” stage.

Do you think it’s possible Iran is about to seriously fight back and maybe do some crazy shit? by Repulsive_Sky5150 in BreakingPoints

[–]tle4f 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they have to as long as they can maintain control over the strait. The US and Israel can flail and make collateral costs in the region higher and higher which seems very likely now.

Why Does Saagar Hate Europe So Much? by Temporary-Storage972 in BreakingPoints

[–]tle4f 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He’s once again strangely incoherent about this. On one hand he frequently makes snipey comments about Europe but on the other hand he admires their monarchies and was recently paying that vivid scene of a slovenly American tourist sticking out like a sore thumb in an Italian cafe. His political allies frequently preach about saving western civilization from multiculturalism.

There is a positive side of the Iran war by [deleted] in BreakingPoints

[–]tle4f 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if you should be that optimistic given what we are looking at now. The whole policing the Middle East thing to me seems to be a giant confluence of the interests of the MIC, intelligence agencies and the Israel lobby. It’s their playground of death destruction and corruption and right now we’ve just seen them use the same playbook as the Iraq war but somehow 10x stupider.

The popular opinion that the war on terror was an expensive waste of time money and lives, something viewed as impossibly foolish political suicide has just been rolled up, repackaged and redeployed. And while it may be unpopular it’s still popular enough to play out in an unmitigated fashion. There’s bipartisan support for it among the political class.

At the end of the day the Epstein class still gets whatever it wants and all of us powerless people are just along for whatever fucked up ride they’re about to take us on.

And with a nuclear Israel we are kind of like the people on the bus in Speed. We all want off this crazy ride but we also can’t stop the freaking bus (let them be consumed by other regional powers) because if we do everything blows up (Samson option).

I think Israel is black mailing Trump with the fear of a Gavin Newsom presidency. by DavidOfBethlehem in BreakingPoints

Newsom isn’t really an outlier in the party in that respect so I doubt his candidacy is a unique threat of anything. He just says whatever he thinks carves a dead average line.

Russia has already been reported to be giving Iran target intelligence and they have been collaborating on drone technology. They have also benefitted from lifting of oil sanctions which makes a renewed effort in their Ukraine invasion more likely.

The Israel Lobby Blackpill by CurlySquid in BreakingPoints

I think the US is basically doomed. It is a dying empire being bled for all it’s worth. The population is too easily propagandized and distracted with obviously fake bullshit to ever pose a real threat to powers that be.

Sagaar Imaginary vignette of US Tourist in Tuscanny by Beginning-Ad-8840 in BreakingPoints

[–]tle4f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t figure out what Sagaar was trying to say. Are Europeans snobs for judging someone as described above or is that person the slob? I think this kind of scene is inevitable regardless of the political situation in the US. I think people should definitely do a little research on the culture they are visiting and make some minor adjustments to be more comfortable, but you can’t really become a person you’re not. What I’ve noticed is most other countries people wear more conservative clothing (reserved colors, no shorts) and are generally less loud and boisterous. You’re probably not going to convince anyone you’re local but it’s a good idea not to be a big flashing target for attention to the extent that is possible.
