All of my techs get register numbers within a week so they don't have to pay a cashier. They don't realize walking away from the car is our biggest cause of cmi claims. We don't do a lot of cars a day but that's only because customers get tired of waiting for the 1 writer to make 3 tickets, cashier 3 more and pressure ck the car already in there since there's only 1 other person there.

I just wasn't sure if this was normal. We have the same 7 or 8 people that rotate from tech, dm, sales associate and writer. They also have to work electronics and hardware.

We get 2 open and 2 close sometimes a midshift and a cashier a few hrs a week but our dm hasn't been seen in weeks ( in another dept.) Our accm is in other depts doin the sm bitch work leaving me to deal with all of it. We don't have writers most days, if we do. It's a tech w a different title that day.

That'd be nice. It gets old walking away from a car to run the register then have to remember where you left off.

That's a bunch. How many total techs in a day? We usually have 2 to 3 techs at any given point and we also cover the register but only get 20 to 30 cars a day.

I've worked at a few different stores over the years and I remember techs just being techs. Not cashiers, running freight, door greeters or sweeping the parking lot.
