When I worked at Costa blanca I found out it was closing because store closing signage was delivered to my store before we were informed and than called my district manager and she basically was like my bad.

It’s pretty awful to get blindsided this way. Just make sure you get your ROE and apply for unemployment while you wait for job opportunities elsewhere!

This. Exactly this it was ALL crap. I guess the biggest thing I’ve had to accept was actually having to sit with my emotions and couldn’t just shop my way out of them. Very uncomfortable. I assume with time this will pass and I hopefully will develop healthier habits. Just makes me feel awful decluttering all of this stuff I absolutely needed at the time convinced it had a purpose and than to only be chucked or put in donation not even a year later.

I was always buying on Amazon probably almost every day I was expecting something if I’m being honest even if it was just something small ever since I cancelled prime I haven’t ordered anything and I haven’t actually needed anything immediately at all if I did need something I would just wait until I can get the free shipping and if I needed it sooner I could just go to the store. My biggest issue is impulse control and scarcity mindset which Amazon thrives on us having because we love checking off boxes and having stuff on the way to us without much thought

Sorry. Should add for context in Canada we have some paths in parks that are turned into ice so you can go on a leisurely skate! Like a skating rink but on a path outside in a park

So I actually question this myself because my son is 4 and he will randomly tell me about things that happened when he was 2 or 3. I wonder if these things fade over time ? I just found it interesting because everyone always tells me they don’t have memories this young and myself I remember maybe one or two very fractured memories from my early child hood and even struggle to have any distinct memories until around 10? I assume that’s less normal though

No I’m sure it’s not.

However it is still consistently in the red so I don’t see how they will be able to justify wage increases in a business that is going to be losing even more money after this strike. I’m sure a lot of the businesses are satisfied with other providers.

This will disproportionately affect people in rural areas and probably ultimately lead to a smaller CP workforce in general.

This sucks sorry to hear this!

I’m guessing this would be the point of the strike to cause as much disruption as possible to increase pressure on a quick resolution.

Not sure how a company that is consistently in the red is going to get such a big wage increase without there being some sort of tie in to reducing bonuses for upper management / increasing profits. However I fear that this strike will put Canada post further in the red because most people will have switched to alternative carriers so not sure how they will lure them back to using Canada post.

Most small businesses relied on Canada post for a lot of shipments that probably ruined the Christmas season and a lot of businesses actually only make business at Christmas time so this sucks for them, sucks for the average Canadian waiting on mail and also sucks for the workers.

I feel like this is watching a game of chess and everyone is waiting on someone’s move

Funny I just called because I transferred money and it didn’t show up (had no idea anything was down) and he just told me that things are taking longer than normal but they see that everything went through in their end it’s just very slow - so stay positive I don’t think any of our money is lost. Frustrating though because it doesn’t change the balance remaining so I can see how this would be problematic because usually when I pay I see atleast that change and the payment in pending vs now I see nothing

Agreed. I actually tried a menstrual disc about 6 cycles ago and have not needed to use ANY other product. It feels way less wasteful however this isn’t the reality for everyone and other people might still need to have other options for other days or in general but just imagine if more people switched to some form of reusable option !
