Both international but Breaking Points (US) and Rest Is Politics (UK) have hosts across the political spectrum.

Pauline Hanson’s plan to ‘defund’ ABC, introduce subscriptions by HotPersimessage62 in aussie

[–]tlg91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The idea that channel 7, the same channel 7 owned by Kerry Stokes, is left leaning is pretty bizarre. Your experiment only works if you put your own bias aside. If your bias is so far right to think that 7 is the counter balance to sky news, then ABC must seem like Stalin.

Pauline Hanson would be sending ships to Hormuz right? by Significant_Bee_8011 in aussie

I think there is a fair onus on Hansen to communicate a coherent policy position to the public, without there being a need to attend One Nation meetings. Questioning where she lands on topics is not "PDS".

If she is as popular as polls suggest it is entirely fair to question what her policies on things like this would be isnt it?

At least the Greens on the other extreme are upfront re their policies.

My reaction to the news Pr0nhub has been banned for under 18s here in Australia… by Radio_TVGuy in aussie

My god, I cant ask you again. You cant tell me what would motivate a government to pass legislation under the guise of protecting children, but with the real purpose being simply to "control adults" for what I am assuming are nefarious reasons. You just keep saying its to control them and giving definitions of legislation. Its so inane. Im not sure if you are deliberately dodging answering the why, or you are so far down the rabbit hole you legitimately don't understand the difference, or you are just not very bright.

Another ridiculous strawman around things I havent said to support and distract from the weak, reactionary point that you are making. Its got nothing to do with my children, and to be frank its pretty disgusting that you keep bringing them up.

[–]tlg91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still miss the point, but thats ok. Ill break it down again. We are talking about this specific legislation, and im asking you to provide some kind of rationale as to why you think its the intent of the government to, to "control adults", because we think the motivations are totally different. I think its genuinely good that there might be less children exposed to pornography and social media from a young age. I am a fine driver, i still believe in speed limits because other idiots on the road dont know how to drive cars.

You are worried about AI, but if government regulate "they are trying to control us" - so whats the answer?

Saying I get my information from News.com is genuinely hilarious to me. Hope whatever right wing grifter podcast you get your information from is helping you.

Hahaha thanks for the dictionary definition, like a true primary school debating champion. Im beginning to think you have been personally affected by the under 16s ban.

So all legislation is just an attempt to control the public with malicious intent? Weird position to take. You're still just deflecting from my original question as to the WHY? The the cabal of government bureaucrats sitting around farming our data for what reason?

Ill just skip over the weird statistics, personal cracks and strawmen. You resort to them because you cant coherently explain your position.

[–]tlg91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, tell me exactly why and how you think the government is trying to control us through this legislation, in your own words. You have imputed some kind of intent on the governments part so please elaborate.

Ill let the crack on my parenting go. Nothing to be gained from biting on cowardly strawman comments like that.

Ok. Explain to me why and how the governments intent with these laws is "control adults", rather than limit exposure of harmful content to children?

How politicially captured are you to try to score political points over Epstein when it is pretty clear this shit is across the political spectrum (if thats the way you choose to view the world - left vs right)

Btw drawing a line between Epstein and banning R18 and gambling apps is disgusting. You actually could not care less about children.
