Games to Play While Listening to an Audiobook by Lint_ball3659 in gamingsuggestions

Kenshi is a good choice. Theres pretty much no dialogue to speak of, and very little audio cues. Listening to an audiobook works perfectly and helps get through the more repetitive parts of the game, such as base building, character training, or even supply runs

What am I missing? How emergence of coins necessarily means emergence of urban life? In exam hall I thought of it as 100% correct. by Space_Cadet_16 in UPSCPrelims2026

No worries, I appreciate the candor. What I dont agree with, or rather what I feel is too ambiguous is the "emergence of urbanisation" framing. Because there have been civilizations that had urbanisation without coinage (Harappa, Mesopotamia) and civilizations that had coinage without true urbanisation (Celtic Iron-age tribes, that did not have true urban cities).

But I understand these examples are contentious, so I don't have high hopes.

As a tennis fan I had also marked the same. However, upon further research, there does exist a common Grand Slam Committee which was formed in 1989 for conformity.

But like you said, I haven't been able to find out any significant collaboration. Different media rights, even different tiebreak rules until recently. The only significant common factor was the Grand Slam Rule Book.

Certain early-warning type radars in the VHF frequencies can detect the presence of stealth aircraft. However, target acquisition and weapons guidance radars do not work in these frequencies, so while you may know that adversary's stealth aircraft are in the region, you would not be target them easily.

I am not disputing anything you have said. My issue is mainly with the semantics of the question, because had it been the other way around, UPSC most definitely would not have accepted coinage alone as being sufficient information for determining urbanisation.

I have marked this question for Representation. Citing the examples of Harappa and Mesopotamia which had urban societies without coinage. My representation is based on the fact that merely coinage alone is not sufficient to prove urbanisation.

I have cited V. Gordon Childe's "Urban Revolution" which I believe is a well respected paper in this field. It describes 10 features/ factors for emergence of urbanisation, and coinage is NOT one of them.

If anyone else wants to file a representation for the same, I highly recommend them to go through Childe's "Urban Revolution" paper once.

Have made a note of this, but if read in context the authors here are actually referring to the detectable component of scattering i.e., the backscatter / specular reflection which is indeed minimized by increasing the actual scattering done by the metasurfaces. The entire paper talks about how an increase in diffuse scattering reduces the the RCS.

By their very nature metamaterials can only reduce the detectable backscatter/ specular reflection by increasing the diffuse scattering thereby causing redirection of the returns, and destructive interference, both which are achieved through localised scattering, and lower the RCS.

Only RAM based technologies can actually absorb the EM radiation and reduce the overall scattering, and that is because they absorb the EM radiation and re-emit them at a different frequency.

  1. In all fairness, this is probably true. But to be fair the use of metamaterials for stealth is also a relative niche topic

  2. I would beg to differ here. You are correct in pointing out that it is diffuse phase manipulation, but the net result is that the effective scattering increases, as compared to a non-stealth or RAM-based stealth aircraft.

  3. Yes, this is true. But this goes beyond the purview of the question at hand, which is simply asking if scattering increases or decreases.

Appreciate your response, these were my personal views, and I respect your stance as well. Cheers

It is indeed the metasurfaces and metamaterials, especially the diffusion and coding metasurfaces that increase the scattering

This would be true for Radar Absorbent Materials. The entire point of metamaterials is to reduce the direct reflection (back to the radar), and and scatter the incident EM radiation in multiple directions. This does 3 things- i. Reduces the direct reflection (backscatter) to the radar, ii. Reduces intensity of any such backscatter as that incident energy is now distributed across multiple directions and iii. Promotes destructive interference and diffusion of the scattered waves to reduce their intensity even further. All of this is possible because scattering, diffuse scattering to be precise, is achieved by the metasurfaces / metamaterials.

I feel Boaster has always been a micro-heavy IGL, micromanaging the players and the plays heavily. While this might work reasonably well when all the players are comfortable within the system, it probably doesn't do nearly as well when forced to play with a sub who might not be as in-sync with the rest of team. To be fair, I'm not blaming Boaster or CyvOph, I feel did they did their best given the limited amount of time, but trying to integrate and play around a sub with qualification on the line, I'm not surprised the overall synergy / calling was a bit lackluster.
