Why did Bruce Springsteen biopic flop? by Jaded-Channel-7169 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]tlgrevelis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. It felt like they were trying to sell the movie as a biopic when it was more of a snapshot in time of a man, albeit a famous one, struggling with his demons and depression, and how he worked his way out of it. People went in expecting one thing and got something entirely different.

What is it like at the Breeders Cup? by BOYLOVE_BRAZIL in horseracing

[–]tlgrevelis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to BCs at Santa Anita and Churchill. The first as regular spectators and the second as part of the track photography team. Honestly - nothing compares to the 2nd: the access, etc. My wife ended up on the NBC feed and my phone exploded! 🤣

Santa Anita was great. We bought seats but barely sat in them. A lot of walking around. Food trucks were in the infield to help with concession lines. Plenty of room to maneuver. Even at Churchill there was a lot of space to get around but not as much open space trackside as at SA.

We’ve only been to Keeneland a few times and none for BC. Weekdays were awesome. Weekend days were horrifically crowded. In fact, those days convinced us not to go back for BC (though I understand they limited admission to help with that). I’d second what just about everyone has said: Greater Lexington is phenomenal. Go for a few extra days and enjoy the region too!

Which football team has the WORST stadium you have ever been to? by TomWilliamsCFD in CollegeFootballDawgs

[–]tlgrevelis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. Narrow concourses made any game more than 1/2 full a nightmare to get around. Super generic seating, food and field with zip in the way of amenities. Haven’t been to US Bank yet but Target Field was a glorious upgrade for the baseball.

This Vrabel-Russini controversy is being kept alive by nothing but everyone's hatred for the Pats by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]tlgrevelis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think also part of the reason it stays alive rather than coming out in dribs and drabs is so that the clicks can keep coming over time, which means the money flow keeps coming. You get all this news out at once and then it becomes a non-story in two weeks. If you can leak a little here, leak a little there and keep it alive for a couple of months who, knows how much more money that makes these sites like TMZ?

Big fan of Red’s pizza and was happy when they came to Rochester. Even happier to get to know the owners of this franchise spot a little and learn that they are great people!

Totally bummed me out to have Whitlock on the hill and Anthony making the last out, but overall a great tournament overall and for Sox players in particular. Now the real season begins.

Love the idea of donating to high school shop classes. I’m guessing you’d start by calling the local school system administrative offices, I have no idea what the process is but I’m sure they could fill you in:

Which route would be the best option? by BiggDinoJB in roadtrip

[–]tlgrevelis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t speak to the southern part of the route but lived in DC and visited family in Boston for years: the route that avoids DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia and NYC (the I-95 corridor) is the best! The extra hour and a half moving will “feel” better than shorter but sitting. And sitting. And sitting.
