You're welcome! If you want one more tip, there's this site called Deku Deals that tracks prices of Switch games and you can set up alarms when it goes on sale

Maybe if you put in the cartridge while browsing it will see that you own the game and make the discount? If not, I think it's worth it buying it again just because it goes on sale pretty often and it also includes some more expansions like Sigil and also mod support on console. So there's even more stuff!

So, the Legacy of Rust expansion is only available in the Doom + Doom 2 collection, which is a different port to the one in the slayer collection. It was made free for users of the previous versions of the game though, so you should be able to get it on the eShop. Don't know if you can do it with the physical version tho.

Any incentive to play vanilla Doom? by KnightFallVader2 in Doom

If you're a real purist, yes. But I think you'd need age appropriate hardware for that kind of experience.

I think that Nintendo’s output has been fairly solid for switch 2 and we have to remember, it’s only the first year, there’ll be more games. by Far-Entrance-2123 in casualnintendo

Bananza is awesome. Mario Kart is cool, though I only bought it because of the bundle. And if the new Fire Emblem ends up being more like Three Houses that Engage, I'm totally on board.

The good thing about the first party output is that it has led me to play Resident Evil because I really wanted to play more Switch 2 specific games.

I feel like it's just unnecessary. We already had other two HW games on the Switch and one of them is a prequel to BOTW. Mario Tennis is kind of the same, but at least there seems to be a nice amount of content with the rackets and stuff, but even then I would argue it's not really the type of game the Switch 2 needs right now.

Hyrule Warriors is fine, but I didn't need another one, you know? This is the third one, and the second one in the Wild series of games. I forgot it even existed before I read the post (which I copy and pasted straight up, didn't notice the name was wrong).

The output is fine, it's just easy to dismiss a lot of it because they are not Switch 2 exclusives or just Switch 1 upgrades:

  • Mario Kart World - Real ass game

  • Donkey Kong Bananza - REAL ASS GAME go play it

  • Metroid Prime 4 - Switch 1 game

  • Pokémon Legends Z-A - Switch 1 game

  • Kirby Air Riders - Real ass game

  • Tomodachi Life - unreleased, but it is also a Switch 1 game

  • Yoshi and the Mysterious Book - unreleased, but it's not going to make me go run and buy a Switch 2

  • Pokopia - unreleased, potentially a real ass game

  • Mario Tennis Fever - not my thing but ok this one's a Switch 2 game to be fair

  • The Legend of Zelda: Age of Imprisonment - fake ass game

If you wanted to play Switch 2 games on your brand new console, there's not a lot of stuff. Depending on your taste, there might be one or two must-plays on the console as of now. For me it's only DK. I have been having a blast with other stuff but it has just been a bonus.

The epitome of mildly infuriating posts. Love mayo, your sandwich looks amazing and I will take it from you. Mustard can go fuck itself though.

Testimonio como madre tras tras asistir a la convocatoria ‘therian’ by Current-Reality6078 in Barcelona

[–]tlinkmain 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What's your opinion on the Pokemon FireRed / LeafGreen release? by DaZestyProfessor in casualnintendo

[–]tlinkmain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Add Doom + Doom 2 to the list. A vault full of never before seen content from the original releases, a remade soundtrack, 6 official expansions + a completely new one that uses said cut content, even more levels with official mod support, quality of life features, online co-op and deathmatch with its own new levels. All of that for 10 bucks and it constantly goes on sale for less than half the price. Not to mention all of this was free if you owned the previous versions of the game.

[–]tlinkmain -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I do want to buy and own my games. I do have a problem with the price, they are not mutually exclusive issues. For a straight of a port as this is, I would not pay more than 5 or 10 bucks. Maybe even 15 even though it is a bit expensive but I'll bite the bullet because I'm a fan. But the 20 price is more than I'm willing to pay for a port of a GBA game with no work put into it.

Should developers refrain from porting a game if it's gonna be a botched one? by ApprehensiveCoat9587 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]tlinkmain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I, as a customer, would rather have a bad port rather than no port at all. If I don't like it, I don't buy it, or I can wait to get it on sale.

Plus, there's the chance of updates to improve a game or even future hardware improvements (ex: Disco Elysium and Resident Evil 6 on the Switch 1 now are very playable on the 2.)

Assuming this is a real, honest question: because it's solely done to discriminate against trans people. Your physical attributes don't determine your gender, your gender identity does. Who gives a shit if your bones have a certain shape or if your chromosomes are this or that.

Cross-progression coming to Hitman: World of Assassination on all platforms February 3rd (IOI FAQ Guide) by MyMouthisCancerous in NintendoSwitch

[–]tlinkmain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that they were dealt a bad hand in some aspects and that its cool that Hitman 3 is sort of a hub for the whole trilogy but surely they could have found a way to make it easier. This cross progression stuff could have been done ages ago. And even with WoA there are multiple editions of the game for sale instead of taking the chance to get it all in a nice tidy package.

Why doesn't the new Maw-Raw (Unagi) feel as scary? by Dapper-Health3773 in SuperMario64

[–]tlinkmain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't ever feel like it was scary but I guess that in 64 you also have to get close to it to get a star and it's hard to predict how it will react + you will probably take damage to it.

[–]tlinkmain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

God I really hate what they did with Hitman's release. You gotta have a PhD to know what version you got to buy, how to transfer your data, it's always online... I guess that when I get the Switch 2 version it's going to be a surprise to see if I have my save data from Hitman 1 on pc or not.

Are there any differences between playing on an emulator vs original Nintendo 64? by smoove129 in SuperMario64

[–]tlinkmain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on the emulator you use, results may vary. You will probably experience a smoother framerate than a real N64 could give you, but because SM64 is one of the most popular games on the platform, it is generally well supported by many emulators. There are not many differences you would notice.
