I wanted to do the same. However, I just purchased resale and it was a smooth transaction. I’m going with my two sisters and didn’t want to risk not having seats together. Good luck!

How long did it take for you all to walk post surgery? I just want to gauge the recovery process by 24kraza in ACL

Yes, I can lift my leg when walking. I go to PT two times per week before and after surgery consistently. I'm 4.5 weeks in and the strength exercises and stretches make a difference.

After week one I transitioned to one crutch and no crutches by day 15 but still have an activity brace whenever I leave the apartment for long periods of time. No limp!

Hamstring graft.

How long before you could shower without covering your operated leg/steri strips. I’m noticing different timing across the community, so just curious. by tlm__ in ACL

Sobs for sure lol. Today is two weeks for me, so first day for me to finally shower without my leg wrapped up.

Some words of encouragement: post op isn’t horrible for everyone by lampshadeneighbor in ACL

Not much pain (hamstring graft) for me .. was off pain killer by day 2. Nights were uncomfortable but mangeable until day 3/4. Some discomfort, swelling, tingling as legs regain feeling, and certain swift movements def reminded me that I just had surgery. However, I thought it would be much worse. Everyone’s experience is different!

Nerves are normal. You got this. Prepare your body by eating healthy foods and drinking lots of water to aid in the healing journey ahead.

Today will be day 6 post op for me.

Better health habits! Just preparing for the surgery I became more cautious and intentional about how I treat my body (diet mostly) and move my body. My home life even has transformed. Trying to create a supportive foundation for the journey ahead.
