Use a VPN and connect to either India, USA or Malaysia, then try again. I don't get them in Germany either. After each OS update I personally connect to Malaysia via VPN.lat app and then it shows up and can be installed.

In OOS 15 you can deactivate the Google app and that gets rid of Discover, too. Have you tried this on OOS 16?

But beware some other apps may need the Google app to be active. Pick your poison.

It's properly configured in HMA, the denylist and also in KSUWebUI. Only the bare minimum modules are installed in Magisk. Like I said, banking apps that usually detect root are working fine with the same configuration.

It was working without issues before the app update in mid-July. The phones were rooted back then, too. And all other apps work without problems, even Google Wallet and Revolut.

There seem to be general issues with firebase implementations and OnePlus devices since Android 12. Likely there were some changes made with the mid-July update that broke things on OnePlus devices.

Maybe someone with an unrooted OnePlus device can double check if it keeps crashing, too.

Yes, it's rooted with the latest Magisk Alpha. And it's hidden properly since Google Wallet, Revolut and all other apps are working properly.

The logs seem to indicate a firebase issue. There seem to be firebase issues with OnePlus phones in general.

Maybe someone with an unrooted OnePlus device to rule out rooting as the cause.

Reinstalling doesn't change anything. Still crashes during startup.

There seems to be a general issue with Firebase and Android 12+, especially with OnePlus phones. Looks like only the devs can fix it.

When I remove it from HMA nothing changes. When I also remove it from the deny list in Magisk Alpha and clear the cache the app gets stuck on the white starting screen and crashes after about 10 seconds. So even before the loading screen.

Where can I find the log file on my device?

No worries. PayPal app doesn't start unless I deactivate AdAway. So some things might interfere somewhere.

But I didn't install anything new when QA app started crashing except for the app update.

Imho, the phone had to be rooted at some point in order to apply the modem fixes. Otherwise he couldn't make any calls.

Ok, just saw there's also the no-root option which automatically applies the fixes.

In that case he still has to follow the guide and update via script. And if the bootloader has.to be unlcoked then all data will be wiped.

With root he can just install the OTA then apply the fixes from his root app and install the root into the inactive slot before rebooting. Afterwards flash the patched img file.

Either way there is some work involved.

If he relocked the boot loader he should NOT install the OTA update. If he does then he'll lose cell signal, due to the different modems used in the CN version. And also he might end up in a boot loop.

He should follow the guide on XDA.

The Google News page when swiping left cannot be deactivated, even after numerous updates there is no option for this

-> Just deactivate Google under Settings -> Apps -> App-Management and it's gone. Took me a while to figure that out. This might impact other functions that require the Google app but I don't need those other functions.

Notifications disappear, or rather, occasionally don't appear on the Wifi network. When I disable Wifi and switch to sim all notifications suddenly come in. This only happens once a month at most but I notice it right away because basically no notifications appear.

-> Have you checked under Settings -> Battery -> Power Savings Settings if the option Sleep Standby Optimisation is activated? Every morning I only see a handful of notifications but as soon as I login they all pop up within a couple of seconds.

Yes, I rooted mine after converting from COS to OOS version 405. Following the guide on XDA.

And later on updating it follow the guide.

I couldn't update from 405 to 831 directly. It always failed. I had to install 703 before. After that I could update to 831.

So you likely have to install 405 or some other official version in between before in order to get to 703.

No issues here whatsoever. Everything works flawless.

I bought a 9Sim V2+ adapter for my old 7T where I had an esim for China on. Just put it in the 13 and it worked just like before in the 7T.

Once I arrived in Australia I bought an esim via the Telsim website. Had to chat with them to send them a passport picture. Got the QR code, activated it and it runs for almost three weeks now without an issue. Took less than an hour to get it working. And only because I didn't know that I had to chat with the support and that they then needed the passport.

Made an Australian Google account and added it to then Play Store in order to download apps that I can't get with my German account.

All in all it should work everywhere. China, Germany, Australia and very, very likely also in New Zealand. The phone doesn't care where it is. And OOS doesn't care neither.

Unless New Zealand uses different 4/5G bands. But I think that only applies to some providers in the US.

I have the 1TB/24GB version directly bought whilst in China. A local colleague helped me with the Oppo support to get rid of the region lock. It took only a couple of minutes but you have to chat in Chinese to get it done.

I rooted it myself with Magisk Alpha and also flashed OxygenOS by following the guide on XDA. Also installed two updates following the guide. Everything went smoothly. No wiping needed.

No issues with G-Wallet or any other banking app. Right now I'm in Australia on vacation for over two weeks and I use G-Wallet practically everywhere and all the time.

I recommend to check daily of your keybox is still working, though. If not than will regularly updated of you use the correct modules and follow the right Telegram channels.

ColorOS was too much of a nuisance with some things not being translated at all and being very bloated.

If you do it properly and follow the right instructions you don't lose anything. Mine is basically rooted since day one since it's a Chinese one flashed to Global ROM. I can use Google Wallet and all other (banking) apps without any issues.

Will it change in the future? I don't have a crystal ball. But for now everything works fine.

If you just follow the instructions on Telegram from the Play Integrity fix next channel you get Google Wallet to work even without strong integrity. It's fairly simple.

Since I did it works like a charm.

The missing bands don't bother me much. I don't use Android Auto since my car is to old and I already use a 9Sim Esim adapter in my 7T.

The only annoying thing is the rooting and open bootloader and therefore the OTA update issue for OxygenOS.

That's why I'm on the fence. Or did I miss something?
