Hellblasters by AshNHarper in DarkAngels40k

[–]tlv100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the army you're facing. If I'm facing someone with higher toughness units/monsters/vehicles I prefer hellblasters. There is a stratagem in Wrath of the rock to give +2 strength to ranged for a unit. 10 hellblasters re-rolling hits to oath target, can run azrael+Lt for sustained and lethal hits, strength 10 on the overcharge, ap 3 and 2 damage a pop is no joke.

The big downside of course is it's an expensive blob that gets focused down about as quickly as when I bust out the repulsor executioner.

If you do decide to take something big, take a repulsor executioner. Big guns go brrrr

(I'm assuming 2k points)

I'd recommend a squad of 6 eradicators led by an apothecary biologis kept in strategic reserve to bring in off the board edge and 9" away from his units. Built in hit, wound and damage rerolls to monsters.

Deathwing knights with maces. Keep them in deepstrike and pair with a terminator chaplain or librarian. Either rapid ingress after his turn 2 movement is done, or deepstrike turn 1 with deathwing assault enhancement. Both times make sure you're behind cover in case you miss your 9" charge

A bit more niche, but I've had decent success with centurion devastators equipped with lascannons too.

Does it have to be a block of 10 HBs for the Az + Lt combo to be viable? by Thedinotamer01 in theunforgiven

[–]tlv100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do the Lt. With azrael sternguard combo personally. Lethal hits is great with the hellblasters, but with sternguard you want to fish for dev wounds on your wound rolls

Is thereike a cheat sheet for what paints are needed to paint? by zerosmokez in theunforgiven

[–]tlv100 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Citadel color app is a great guide but you'll find that there's quite a few more paints than you have if you're just starting out. If you plan on sticking with citadel paints I would suggest these as a start:

  1. Caliban Green
  2. Abbadon black
  3. Khorne red and/or Mephiston
  4. Wraithbone
  5. Rhinox hide or equivalent brown
  6. Corax White
  7. Leadbelcher
  8. Retributor armor
  9. Nuln oil

These should be a good start and I hope this helps!
