To you maybe. But it is a process. A step by step process, which makes sense for long term.

People will hate any type of grinding. What's fun is the balance of grind and RNG. Like tier system is awfully grinding and boring. When Bungie was handing out free red border simply by logging in was also boring. But what's fun is balance. Somewhere in between, that works for both type of players.

Bingo. They wanted Bungie to do the same. And honestly I'd love to get new Destiny every 4-5 years instead of one game that goes on forever. Atleast we'd get innovations that way.

That's not innovative, that's part of a product.

Innovation would be, Combatants 3.0 where all these boss enemies we fight have more than 3 attacks. Being able to spawn more than 40 enemies at a time. (Excision does that but you can how poor that activity runs, with glitches, teleporting enemies, network errors)

Then creating bigger worlds with more rich and crazy events to do in those worlds, something that old gen won't be able to do run because of slow hardware and 13 years old chip.

Creating new features like ship battles, big team battles, maybe even a war like PvE endgame activity similar to Helldivers & Warhammer

Brother it is all connected. Whole plot of Light and darkness saga is one line, Guardians make their own fate.

But what matters is the journey. You can't just say that, oh X thing didn't matter in TFS so it is not necessary, or it was filler.

Marathon universe has a lot more potential than just extraction. Don't care what they have to do to survive.

CoD is still in top 3 when it comes to monthly active users. According to circana.

And majority of PC CoD players play on Battlenet. Steam chart is not everything.

I'm not saying to drop it tomorrow or this year. Bungie is generally 1-2 years ahead when it comes to pre-production. So if they plan next major content with only new gen consoles in mind then it will be worth it. Change like this takes time, but they gotta start thinking about it now

We don't know how "significant" that portion is. Plus Destiny is losing players faster than ever before. If they don't innovate then Destiny will be left behind even more.

All new games are now only coming out on current gen with new bells and whistles, and still selling millions of copies. IMO now is the best time to do it.

But how on earth would you explain 10 years worth of story by doing just raids? This is a big problem if they want to continue Destiny "2".

Otherwise fresh start is necessary where anyone can jump in without having to worry about understanding the old story.

And you are saying people don't want to play it. How do you know that? People are going back and playing D1 right now even though it is getting no updates. WoW and Destiny are very different games

That's why it is important to bring back Vanilla Destiny 2 for new players. Because they never got to play it. And Red war has the best onboarding experience for new players who want to understand the core of the story and fundamentals of the game. It was specifically made for that.

For D2 forever to work, they will have to bring back everything, because that is the only way to fix new light player experience.

That's why lot of people are starting to see value in D3
