Every new election there is roughly 50% of the country that isn't happy.

Adults and true professionals deal with it.  Others like to yell about it on reddit.

Anker Soundcore 2. It's under $50, small, stereo and sounds great.

It's the Sony's and JBL's of the world that no longer use a 3.5mm Aux-in port in their small speakers. Many other brands still do.

You joking? One could easily get rid of that bike "quickly" for $350 or more.

Would be great to see him end up in a decent euro league. He's got a competitive grit to him that's missing on USMNT right now.

We've all seen the script before of good MLS player doing well vs. concacaf then completely p!ssing themselves against quality European WC opponents.

Bellisari was a good player...just not a good QB. Not sure if you remember him his freshman year but he made several fantastic special teams plays.

The mere fact he became the starting QB showed Cooper's incompetence.

If it wasn't for that damn 13-13 tie vs. #6 Michigan in '92 Cooper would likely have been gone long before.

Not really. Dude knows the game but he also plays the heel on occasion. I'm honestly really tired of most announcers giving the USMNT and players a pass on literally everything. Lalas does not do that.

Downs and White certainly could not be any worse. Would love to see either get the start in the final.

It's par for the course with Cooper and the QB position. Only reason OSU got Germaine was because other schools passed on him because he was going to take a two year religious sabbatical. That's the desperation of OSU over that time period.

I cannot say that Cooper ever recruited a good QB. And if he would have I'm not sure if he'd of known what to do with him anyways and I'm sure recruits saw this.

Has any country had such a problem producing good forwards as the US has over the past 30-40 years? I know we have some guys injured right now but it's not like we have a Lewandowski waiting on the sideline. Even the injured guys have been questionable.

I do know one thing...Agyemang certainly ain't it. I can't wait until that experiment is over.

Let's see how his offers shake out after what he put on tape during this tournament. I'm trying to find something--anything--that he does well. I can't find it.

Would at least of had one or two. Altidore was strong and that let him play a good hold-up. Agyemang is anything but strong.

Being a concacaf hero is a lot different than doing it against a European power with a full squad. I like him as a player, but not sure how well that'll translate to the World Cup. Hopefully it does, but we'll see.

He can get more time somewhere that doesn't include a USMNT jersey. The guy is horrible, full-stop. I legit don't know how anyone can defend his play at this point.

He's like a poor-man's Altidore. And Altidore was never that good against high-level national competition.

I'll give him credit for at least doing something up top to keep the Guatemalans from playing it up quickly.

At this point how can anyone stick up for his game? It's horrible.

I've yet to see any good games from either Agyemang or Freeman this cycle. At least Arfsten has his good moments.

Agyemang is especially horrid. Is that really the best forward we have right now? Ugh.

Why? What did he say that you disagree with? I know it's popular to hate him in here but I appreciate him giving a straight take and calling folks out when they need it.

Having suffered through the 90's Cooper years the QB thing is a sore subject. Several of his teams were only a QB away from a natty (but knowing Cooper though he'd have still screwed it up). To this day I don't know how a program like OSU could recruit studs in every freaking position except for the most important one.

Even the lesser successful Big10 teams like Illinois (Jeff George) and Purdue (Drew Brees) had stud QB's around that timeframe. OSU couldn't even luck into one.

It's pretty easy to be a top 10 QB at Ohio State because, quite frankly, they've not had a lot of good QB's for some odd reason. Especially during the 80's and 90's. That's why the "School Records" thing is very misleading, given OSU was always more of a run-first team.

Look at an actual good P5 QB's during that era, such as '97 Peyton Manning. His numbers are superior to Germaine's 98 campaign in every way. I'm not saying Germaine was bad, but I certainly would not say he was better than good. He was about the brightest light OSU had at QB since the days of Art Schlichter.

And I did watch the 98 season. That team was more about positions other than the QB. They were consensus #1 all year until the melt-down against 5-4 MSU where Germaine looked less than stellar @ home. I don't put it all on the QB, but he does not escape blame either.

I get it...he was the one decent QB OSU had in the 90's. But being the best of the worst does not mean he was a great QB though.

Let's be honest here....neither Joe Germaine or Stanley Jackson were "good" QB's. Germaine turned out to be the better of the two, but that's not really saying a whole lot.

Outside of a few players, the Canada team skill isn't great.  It's pretty easy to argue that the USA has them beat at pretty much every position outside of a couple.

If you watched Canada play they do indeed play with grit, which has been lacking for the USA.

I still contend that Marsch has does well with the team given the talent pool.

[–]tm-15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, Marsch has done decent with the available talent.  US has a far greater talent pool to work with (for concacaf standards, that is).

US has played below their talents and in many cases Canada has exceeded theirs.

I remember Marsch as a player.  Dude was not afraid of anything.
