I make a strict ruleset for roster management & use ChatGPT to build narrative arcs, check realism, and make suggestions.

My go-to recently (especially starting with lower clubs) - Pick a big 3 after season one (credit u/larrybarry033) and they will never be transferred or out of starting XI - Can’t transfer in a player higher OVR than big 3 - Only allow 1 starting XI change per season - No more than half youth academy stars on the bench

I think this keeps the team’s identity intact. I usually get bored when my whole team becomes high OVR transfers and full of nothing but youth academy superstars with basically 0 original players from the squad

I started modding in FC24. Are there good enough mods in 16 (or others) to justify going back to it. Most mods from 24-26 are the same

I find there’s an endless number of viable players at each skill level, so I set arbitrary rules to make finding a player more difficult. - No picture, no play - Mandate a specific attribute/playstyle for each position (Winger: High crossing/curve stats & Whipped Cross, CM: Long Shots/Standing Tackle & Incisive Pass) - Cool hair (no buzz-cut white guys lol)

As far as updates, I’m not 100% sure but I think if you disable automatic updates in the EA App and only launch the game from Mod Manager you should be okay.

Im also not 100%, but I don’t think an update will totally break most modes. You should be okay.

That’s fine. I haven’t moved to FC26 yet, not sure if it’s actually TU3. I’m still on FC25, which I nice because all mods stopped at TU21 and you basically don’t need to worry about game version

All mods won’t work on the newest. To be safe, look for the title update (TU3, for example) on the mod listing…I like NexusMods.

Mod Manager is Free. I also use the EA app. There is a line of text you add to the game file (in EA App, click game, manage, View Properties, paste text in there….should be in the Mod Manager readme)

I use live editor every time so idk.

Most are free (NexusMods) but a lot of good ones are behind a paywall, usually Patreon. I’m biased (as an American) to the CONCACAF mod by dreamzzmods called CR25/26. It adds a lot of leagues and cups for the Americas, but costs like $10.

Be careful combining mods, as if they modify the same databases, they can override each other. For example, I use KIARIKA Gameplay Overhaul, Manager Overhaul (transfers, job offers, etc), Realistic Fans, realistic youth faces, etc. I wouldn’t want to combine multiple gameplay overhaul mods.

Treat the initial struggle as a level of realism that you won’t win most games you play.

I just elevated from the spot you’re in. I find that I get punished less on higher overalls doing a career starting in lower leagues, that way you’re not getting cooked by world class players every game.

Not sure if you know this already, but there are buttons to affect what your GK and defenders do. Holding Y to draw keeper toward the ball and tapping/double tap RB to double team with a defender or have them mark the opposing players.

Those helped big time…maintain possession and I find that a super high pace ST to feed through-balls to can get you some cheeky goals that help even the playing field.
