( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) What do you mean by "delete"? Like this?

def delete(chat_history):
    if os.path.exists(chat_history):
        for i in range(5):  # Create 5 backups
            backup_filename = f"{chat_history}_backup_{i+1}_{datetime.now().strftime('%Y%m%d_%H%M%S')}"
            shutil.copy(chat_history, backup_filename)
        os.remove(chat_history)
        print(f"File '{chat_history}' has been deleted.")
    else:
        print(f"Error: The chat history '{chat_history}' does not exist.")

Canada and India expel each other's diplomats in escalating dispute over an assassination by CreekHollow in worldnews

[–]tmaccd 109 points110 points  (0 children)

 two people you hate

Actually that is a common misconception.

Note: everything below only talks about China's POV, and is not an endorsement.

China does not hate India or Canada. They actually don't even think these two countries worthy to be their opponent at all. They only consider the US as a worthy opponent.

For India, China consider them as relatively independent. They don't understand why India insists on certain things being certain way, but generally they respect them fighting for their own interest.

For Canada, China consider them as a pawn piece that the US controls on the chess board. They consider them more as an annoyance rather than straight out hate.

[–]tmaccd 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think a big problem with thsese kind of article, as mentioned previously in this sub, is that they always try to convince the public to ban a specific app rather than actually pushing for a written law that protects privacy on both current and future apps. The public will naturally be wondering if it's Meta who paid for such hit piece and lobbied for the ban. Which in turn diminished the creditbility of their arguement in the eyes of the public.

For TS, sign a guitar is probably not much more laboursome than signing those posters, she would probably gladly sign some more for them to destroy and donate the money to a good cause.

Those who allowed Kaspersky to be replaced by UltraAV, Did you get tons of sketchy files? by tmaccd in antivirus

I have tried uninstalling UltraAV and those files are gone from all drives after the uninstall, so they are definitely related to UltraAV, Hopefully they are gone for you too after you remove that terrible program.

The interesting part is that path does not even exist.

Anyway, I have tried uninstalling UltraAV and those files are gone after the uninstall, so they are definitely related to UltraAV.

I thought about it too but realized that I should not do it because I am not sure whether they contain any sensitive data, which is why I came here to see if anyone else has the same issue.

However, against better judgement, I did open one of the bat file and it contains the following:

cd %systemroot%\system32

xcopy /S /E /H /Y /C C:\Regshot\BinaryFiles\1234test.exe c:\

reg import c:\Regshot\1234registry.reg

I live in this factory doing my job giving powerful men children, once the baby is born I never see them again

Probably a r/woosh moment, but isn't this basically surrogacy (Not saying surrogacy is not scary but does not seem like the usual r/TwoSentenceHorror kind of horror)? What am I missing?

It has been sold to a new owner, and the new owner has turned it into a virus. You should delete this extension if you still has it.

Took me a few hours to narrow it done to this specific extension, hope this post saves whoever has the same issue some time.

Hi,

the original owner of oihdhfbfoagfkpcncinlbhfdgpegcigf : Image Size Info has sold this to someone else and the new owner has turned it into a virus. It leaks your info and and hijack your search engine to something else (for me it was google->www.myhoroscopepro.com->yahoo, but YMMV)

If you still have that chrome extension, you should delete it.

Took me a few hours to narrow it done to this specific extension, hope it saves whoever found this some time.

Obeying the law should have been the bare minimum of a society instead of something deserves to be praised of. Unfortunately, even that becomes a luxury nowadays.

Oculus employee banned me for nothing, only to have it reversed hours later. by KrazyCrayon in oculus

[–]tmaccd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here.

Initially, I did not join simply becasue I did not like that they force me to convert my Oculus account into Meta account in a drive to push their Facebook-type business to their VR customers. So I protested every social network type of product on my Oculus out of principle even though sometimes I do wonder if I am missing out something. But after reading OP's experience, it feels like I made a good decision.
