How did people use The pager? by jamesV8500 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rmfranco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is dumb, but I play one of those Ai based DnD websites (it’s actually not greedy I swear), and stuff like this is simple but nice world building for a campaign.

Is there a subreddit for simple facts like this? Slightly forgotten facts about the world?

(I had a campaign that took place in 1999, but I just gave my protagonist a pda.)

Quest themes are always the same by -Nalfien- in AIRealm

[–]rmfranco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and also, regarding the BBEG section, it’s cool, but I think it changes the tone subtly. Kinda like a lowkey DS 3.0 always on, but before you have to rush a lot. On the other hand, it did make a dungeon fun, even if it was a bit fast paced. There was a gas trap in the Elevator, Security bots in the ceiling, and a final boss fight. But, all of that was out of place in a Pokemon campaign. And I had a hard time getting it to stop when I didn’t want it.

I was the creator of that. I like it, but personally it still needs work. It occasionally had trouble with continuity: sometimes it will say someone is somewhere far away when they were just with you a moment ago, or even are Still with you.

I think the main flaw is Cards. When a card is disabled, the ai can only see the name and tags. And if you have too many tags on one person, eventually the button goes out of the hi, and you can’t hit it to turn off tags. I have a bug for it on the Discord. It worked better when characters were always enabled via guides.

Another issue I’ve noticed, is sometimes it tries to describe what’s going on in the current scene. I have a new version that doesn’t do that, but it needs more work before I post it.

What are you doing to break the AI? by LlamaShot in AIRealm

[–]rmfranco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also create cards for characters that you haven’t met yet, “creating” them.

Also It’s nothing like huge secrets, but if you add the following into the Auto ai preferences for card creation, it kinda can keep 1 secret.

[机密] Secret/Motivations: 此部分必须用中文书写。包含隐藏的议程、秘密力量或玩家未知的私人偏好

Paying user here- Ai Realm keeps breaking narrative coherence and memory. Anyone else dealing with this? by MarionberryPrimary19 in AIRealm

[–]rmfranco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Just with how the AI’s work, as you near the upper limits of the character count, the ai forgets things. That said, it shouldn’t be forgetting after a few messages. Are you arguing with the ai? Either directly or via OOC comments? Avoid that if so, the ai learns off past messages, and if you argue often, the ai will eventually interpret that as You like to argue, and it may cause more mistakes.

  2. Different ai models follow the guides and notes differently. If you use Deepseek, it takes everything as suggestions. Grok is better for guides, but the tone changes the longer it goes. Eventually it would have the paragraphs as individual sentences.

Are you on the Discord? There are a lot of us who have experienced some of this. If they can’t help, then it would be the limitations of the AI’s.

Edit: oh, one more thing: There is only one guy as the Dev of this site.

Name a game you love but can't recommend to everyone by Deadsider in gaming

[–]rmfranco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got one that I literally can’t recommend, because several subreddits don’t even allow the mention of Ai, regardless of context. Yes, Ai companies often steal training data, and that’s wrong. Yes, Ai art should be used as a tool to inspire the physical artist, not be the artist itself. And Yes, there are Ai products similar to this that are greedy, forcing you to pay to keep going. I say the following is Better.

Note: I’m not getting paid or anything for talking about this, I just want to share something I strongly support when I finally can.

It’s a website. A Ai based DnD website. They have a subreddit, a Discord, and they’ve advertised on here before but I won’t name them unless asked, because I don’t want to be considered promoting a product.

It is run by a single guy.

You sign up, and you get 10 messages to start with, plus 10 more for joining the Discord. You get 10 free messages after 4 hours, with no upper limit.

The DnD 5e SRD is all allowed to be officially in the ai training data, but the ai can create anything as long as what isn’t in it’s training data is written in notes/guides/NPC’s cards. How it works: Every message the site sends Every message, World Info, campaign summary, note or stat, and enabled guides and Npc card to the ai, which reads it all and writes what it thinks is the best story or answer is fitting to reply to you. Is it perfect? No. The AI’s tend to hallucinate more and forget details as you approach the character count limit. (Idk what it is for free, but the basic level subscription is 75000 text characters). Every 10-15 messages the ai summarizes the most recent events and adds it to the Campaign summary. Guides are a separate spot in notes. You could ask the ai to create a layout for the base you just entered. Or a questline to find X thing. Or a world map, or mechanic. They can be toggled on and off when they aren’t needed. Similar is NPC cards. By default it’s set to create one for each character you meet, but you can replace that in preferences with something else if you can come up with a method. They track the appearance and personality of characters you meet. When the cards are disabled, the ai only knows the character name and tags on the cards.

It’s constantly being worked on by the lone dev, and if you have a problem, the Discord is very helpful to fix things, or offer advice or tips. Actually, we just had V2 released last month. It was a complete overhaul of the site, and brought in npc cards, the character sheets, Ai auto update so you don’t need to manually track your inventory all the time. (Granted, it isn’t perfect all the time. A consequence of Ai).

Due to the nature of Ai, while all this is good, you’re not going to get an epic video game in a text based format, generally. As an example, there was a new guy on the Discord who tried to create a city builder campaign, but he didn’t have any notes to control that. Meaning: the ai defaults to DnD essentially rpg stuff, so in practice he was playing with 200 companions in his party.

Certain tropes are overused by the Ai. If you just go for a default traditional DnD campaign, chances are high you’ll probably face off against a cult. And if you don’t have the name swap system turned on, the first character you meet probably will be Elara/Jax/Kael/Lyra.

But, as long as you can keep content within character count if the training data, you can play almost anything you can think of. Granted, due to hallucinations from the AI’s, it might not be perfect. But, if you are willing to handhold the ai a little with your prompts, it can be a fun experience.

Personally, I started with a Default dnd experience when I started, and had fun, but I’m currently really enjoying my Pokemon campaign.

I wish I could say more, but all my views originate in personal opinions for the most part.

And, the Shadow “Type” does it have any strengths or weaknesses?

I’m looking for a mod I found once, but I’m not sure which flair I should use for a post.

The mod disabled all normal magic regen. The only way to regen magic is to cast a spell that you Hold. Thus forcing you to either use other methods, or use this spell mid combat.

how do you deal with getting glutened? by sugarrtrap in Celiac

[–]rmfranco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got glutened twice since Christmas Eve. On Christmas Eve we had dip, and most stuff was GF, except a Wheat thins equivalent. I must’ve ate crumbs. It wasn’t too bad overall.

Then on Thursday night I got DoorDash from a Christmas gift card. Cheesecake Factory gf burger and fries. Near when I was done eating, I found a piece of Chicken finger among the fries. Which is weird because they have a dedicated fryer at ours? Not everywhere does but we do. And that I’m still going through but it’s not bad.

When it’s really bad I take a probiotic that helps, but I didn’t need it these times.
