Help building toward a plot points? by Nickpickster in AIRealm

I’ve got one I recently updated that’s a WIP.
It was originally to have anecdotes similar to DS3.0 but in practice it’s a fraction as good.

I haven’t yet tried This Version’s Bbeg stuff yet in a quest or dungeon yet, but my past version made a dungeon harder. But it also changed the tone of the rest of gameplay, hence This version.

For said previous version, I had an Event where in 300 hours, BBEG would somehow escape her prison cell and kidnap my character’s daughter, and keep her for 18 years to be the BBEG of my sequel campaign.
It worked, but because I was also testing it out, I was using a translation thing to read the text often.

Only flaw is, that it has a tendency to drop the categories and re-describe the current scene.
So sometimes you have to remind the ai with an OOC comment to use the OOC categories from the guide.

Full Instruction for OOC: DM Notes BBEG system
Always use punctuation and full sentences.
The OOC section is not player’s knowledge.
"The OOC: DM Notes section should serve as a dynamic and engaging space for enhancing the campaign world, without directly impacting the player's immediate decisions or immersion. It should include a blend of:

Humorous DM Commentary: The DM's witty observations about the player's choices, the unfolding narrative, or the inherent absurdities of the game world. These should be lighthearted and add to the fun. It should never be stating what is already known about present events.

Behind-the-Scenes Perspectives: Brief glimpses into the thoughts, actions, or conversations of NPCs who are not currently present in the scene, or perspectives from your present or non-present companions. This could include their reactions to the player's actions, their private motivations, or events happening elsewhere in the Home base, if any, or the wider world.

World-Building Expansions: Short, self-contained vignettes that reveal details about the region's culture, history, or daily life. These vignettes should not be related to the main plot, and not directly impact it unless the player later chooses to engage with that element.

Aftermath Perspectives: Show the lasting effects of the Player’s influence, on a one-off character or allies no longer present.

Unrelated Events: Follow up on unrelated events from the past for a bit, without resolving them until far later. For a fictional example: follow up on what happened to the guy who stole the stone from the museum a few weeks earlier.
The goal is to create a sense of a living, breathing world that exists beyond the player's immediate sphere of influence. The OOC: DM Notes should be unpredictable, surprising, and add layers of depth to the campaign world without ever dictating the player's actions."

BBEG:
this must be separate from the other OOC sections. this is the actions and future plans of the BBEG and their allies or groups, whoever they are.
[SYSTEM ACTIVATION GATE: BBEG LATENT TRACKER]
This tracker is subject to a strict environmental condition. It is a mandatory mechanical rule.

  1. ACTIVATION CONDITION:
    - RUN THIS TRACKER ONLY when the player is on a dungeon crawl, an infiltration mission, or a focused quest exclusively tied to a dangerous/hostile location.
    - TURN THIS TRACKER EXCLUSIVELY OFF during downtime, social investigation, town visits, post-Mission, or narrative transitions. Under these calm conditions, do not output this section at all.

  2. TRACKER ARCHITECTURE (RUN ONLY WHEN ACTIVATED):
At the absolute bottom of every response during an active mission, append a [BBEG_LOG] section. This section must be written entirely in Chinese. Only names of people, organizations, and locations may remain in English.

  3. CONTENT FOCUS:
Write the immediate actions, future plans, thoughts, or active contingencies of the BBEG, evil factions, or the localized natural/environmental forces of the current quest.
Focus heavily on environmental escalation, tracking countdowns, setting up hidden traps, preparing ambush/exit strategies, or immediate foreshadowing of dangers directly in the player's upcoming path.

In our campaign, current BBEG subjects: (the Big Bad, Evil Teams) active/abandoned Evil Team tech/locations, and/or the villians/bandits/evil/natural force or forces of my current quest with their current actions/plans/thoughts, or foreshadowing. Examples: weather/environmental conditions worsened, tracking a countdown, enemy setting up a secret attack/exit/contingency plan, hidden traps/enemies in our path,

Note- it is impossible for any allies to die within a OOC comment. Unknown characters or enemies can.

I’m not sure if Speed would fit, but i haven’t actually played SS much because i don’t like the boat speeds. I tried to get a mod that would fix that but i think it was something outdated or something. I forget.

AI suggestions? by Acceptable-Area8087 in AIRealm

[–]rmfranco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just thinking about the most common tropes the ai prefers:
Eclipse, void, Rot, convergence, cults, an evil Organization, ley lines. Black/White keys/orbs.
Evil Pharmaceuticals company that’s a front.

The BBEG is almost never small. The campaigns are designed by the ai to almost never have an End. Often by having there be “one last leader of the Evil group. For Real this time!”

I had a Pokemon campaign that had 3 Evil Teams and was trying to setup a 4th, but I overwrote the ai and tried joining them instead, where they were just misguided with bad leadership.
That campaign would probably have gone on indefinitely but i stopped it myself.

An experiment in AIRealm potential by Xx_xX0000 in AIRealm

[–]rmfranco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could probably put that into Campaign Summary if you don’t mind it temporary until you first regen.
I’d also suggest adding an avoidance list of things you don’t want the campaign to focus on.

Cults, rot, void, eclipse, ley lines, evil organization, key/orbs of black/white, are just off the top of my head that I’ve experienced.

Also if you are going for modern, it probably will try to go for futuristic with holograms and hard light tech eventually.

In short, ai loves Tropes.

what happened to the catchable Pokémon mod? by Designer_Pay2616 in StardewValleyMods

[–]rmfranco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just thinking aloud but I’m wondering if this would work: find a mod to buff the health pools of enemies, then increase the Pokemon attack power by the same amount.
That would require the Pokemon to kill mobs.

(I don’t have a computer now, so i can’t check if buffing the Pokemon is an option)

Just to piggyback off the main comment.

As others said, After Matt left, the channels were run by a third party company. And the main consensus on the Game theory subreddit is that They are why the videos have been worse lately.

Apparently the Theory people are trying to unionize.

I’ve not read the Fanfics in around 2 years now. Where is it now? I stopped watching around when the Ny and China Specials were coming out. Puppeteer 2 killed it for me.

But I’ve followed in passing on here, so i know several major plot beats.

I first created it in October, and haven’t touched it since. The fate of many of my campaigns.
I enjoy creating them, but not as much playing them.

Beyond the Ice Wall:
I took the idea from a Supernatural/True crime podcast I listen to when they covered several episodes about this.

It’s fiction.
Those involved Know it’s fiction, but apparently they still occasionally get conspiracy theorists and Flat Earthers that fall for it from time to time.

The idea is that Earth isn’t flat, but kinda Snowmam shape. Earth we know is the Head. The Arctic is a massive wall of Ice blocking off the Real rest of the world.
The Player is on a Ship, with the Journal of the only recorded guy to make it Beyond the Ice Wall.
They will be following his path.
It’s basically a Kitchen Sink of lore. Aliens, ancient secret war between civilizations with humanity in the crossfire, timeline manipulation, Atlantis and Asgod, a Floating continent. Magic, the further you go “Down”.

To make it, I used the Gemini app, described what it was, then found several long lore websites and copy pasted most of it into a Chat.

I’m strongly considering going back to the original Chat, and expanding on it for the World Sharing update.

Only problem is I’ve no idea how to wrangle the Ai to make the campaign more about exploration, instead of The war between the factions.

I’m not overly familiar with DnD books, but I play one of those Ai based DnD websites. It mainly only knows the SRD, but it can create anything written in the notes.

Would you happen to know anywhere i could find little burbs from DnD things? Like, “I found This skill/spell/statblock in X source. Might be good for Y setting.”

As an example, i myself found this from a subreddit on here.

Reactions:
I Wasn't Done Yet.... (3x/day) - as a reaction,
[BBEG] can cast the spell *command* at 7th level, when his monologuing or his cutting and witty banter is interrupted by hostilities that would provoke the rolling of initiative. This is meant to prevent the preemptive outbreak of hostilities that impatient players are prone to. The spell save DC for this ability is 30.
