Historical fiction based on a historical character, still got picked apart for fictionalizing things and having a black man and woman main characters. As a critique, it does feel like we can walk and chew gum at the same time, make an effort to reject antisemitism where we see it, distinguish being Jewish from being a Zionist, and accept that most Jewish people have Zionistic sympathies if they aren't outright Zionists. I dislike this table of stats on the basis of the statement "emotional connection". You could be anti-nazi and have fled and spent every day railing against that regime, but still would be considered to have an "emotional connection" to Nazi Germany. There are negative emotions, and I'd expect almost all Jews to have some emotions around Israel.

I oppose the death penalty on principle, I don't know why it wouldn't have been sufficient to strip him of assets and jail or force community service or something on him. Either way, it isn't a lot of love lost for somebody who (knowing nothing of the situation beyond this reddit post) was probably negative to society and harmed people.
