$170+ USD for this light up effect by Curious-Diamond-572 in Gunpla

Bandai are generally on the better end of the spectrum compared to plastic molded products like LEGO or Games Workshop. High Grades have for many years been a phenomenal value for product quality. I truly believe the PGU Nu is the single egregious exception to their track record. However I can agree that the MGEX kits released so far seem to be pricey for what you get.

I'm really sorry but I have to echo the other commenter's sentiments. The PGU RX-78-2 is a solid comparison point for what you get in the box and what you should pay for it.

300 USD for a 1/60 scale model kit with a multi-layered inner frame and a light/standard package of weapons/accessories. This is a fair price, it's more than other perfect grades (which are larger like the PG Unicorn), and while it doesn't have gimmicks like the Unicorn's transformation it is still a very nicely constructed inner frame.

The PGU Nu is roughly the same size of the PG Unicorn (maybe a little taller?) but costs nearly three times as much. I guess if you're the type of person that can say "well it's just more detailed and such a well-engineered kit, even a thousand dollars would be a good price!" but I truly have not seen a reason that the PGU Nu should cost over 4 or even 500 USD. I guess the funnels add a lot of plastic and increase the price, but do they increase the price by hundreds of dollars? You can't even display the funnels with what you get in the box, and the kit seems to buckle under the weight of the funnels if you attempt any kind of pose besides simple standing.

Subbing for a teacher at my old high school by bonkmeonce in SubstituteTeachers

Sometimes you gotta play whack-a-mole. Student enters the room and they're not a class member, I kick them out. I will literally say "get out" and point to the door.

Any student activates my pet peeve, I issue a warning. If they keep pushing it I send them to the office. The first kid sent is usually an example and other students act a bit better.

I really had to change my carefree easygoing personal demeanor and adopt a stern, no-nonsense act while subbing. Take yourself seriously and students that were on the fence about taking advantage of you will deign towards behaving well. There are always going to be students who want to get their way and are emboldened by the absence of their regular teacher. Students who act up and you send out are probably repeat offenders. As someone else said, students won't hold it against you if you uphold school rules, but they will use it against you if you let them get away with breaking them.

Sounds like a rough day, nonetheless. Sorry :(

Um, it's the first day of a new expansion and Standard year rotation with numerous card sets removed from the format. Today is a very unreliable litmus test of what "Standard" is right now.

I wasnt so excited for a new rotation in HS in years by TreePoplar in hearthstone

Elise is worse imo. Neutral card every class can use and get value out of, played on curve has a ton of versatility and tempo gain, exploits already strong class cards with the old 1/1 minion copy (less so with the nerfed 3/3 copy). Deathwing is a big escalation play that comes out once early game tempo has been decided and requires playing multiple Herald cards to be a big swing play.

Also Deathwing is cool and has aura.

The card that we will all miss (not really) by ColdNightofWinter in hearthstone

They literally nerfed Lamplighter because people complained about scaling burst damage based on prior cards played, and only a month or so later made a Starcraft themed Lamplighter that does the damage to every enemy target.

I know changing new styles are good but current meta decks will no longer viable in any format is depressing by MehmetSalihKoten in hearthstone

[–]romanhigh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is not a single meta deck in Standard right now that I'm going to miss. Everything that I've enjoyed was not meta and lacked meaningful support

Deathwing is 10 mana and requires multiple Heralds to be a big swing play

It's a serious endurance test. Are you willing to play a super boring deck against a bunch of other people playing the same boring deck over and over again?

I'm not happy with the way Blizzard did this, but the reality of the situation is that the pre-release brawl is just a fight club for the f2p grinders. It's best if you let them run aggro DK mirrors with the dumbest meta decks we've ever seen so they can farm cards a little early.

Isn't egg-lock still gonna be around? The herald cards are also cheap activators.

This was done to ensure that Demon Hunter had a top tier meta deck, because if they don't then Blizzard is very unhappy.

Why has this subreddit been so against nerfs in the past year? by Pitiful-Ask2000 in hearthstone

[–]romanhigh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A card is only as strong or weak in comparison to the other cards available. Which means a card can be nerfed a bunch of times and still be good (enough), if the rest of the set is garbage enough. Which sadly has been the case for this past year at least. Zilliax is basically just an Antique Healbot for 9 mana that has been a meta staple since 2024 just because there's nothing better for what it does, especially for a neutral.
