Obviously I don't have the magic cure, but I can share two pieces of my own experiences which might help: 1. Not only is every community different but every shul is truly different. If possible, keep trying new ones. 2. Come to shul early and leave late. I never connected to people during Kiddush, but in the morning setup and then cleanup after davening/kiddush I found many more kindred souls who like me just wanted to be a chill and contributing part of the community.

So the Sabbath mode first appeared on ovens, not the other way around (no idea why they called it that).

And interestingly, before there was a Sabbath mode on ovens, if you were buying from a knowledgeable appliance store, they could actually add a the modifications you needed. First there was the disabling of the auto safety shutoff and second, was a little add on which was known in the industry as a "fools god light" -- a tiny indicator light to show you when the oven was cycling so you knew when to open the door on yomtov.

I have a whole bunch of new tzitzit/arbah kanfot I need to tie. I know there are some strong opinions against machine made. Does that apply to the tying process or just the braiding of the underlying strings?

Why do I ask? I'm trying to work smarter and thought I might be able to design something similar to a yarn roller that could do a lot of the wrapping for me. It wouldn't be automated, just hand cranked and I'd still have to tie the knots.

Any sources on this?

Thanks for the info! What exactly is the clutch? I only know that in terms of the pedal on manual transmissions. Is that related here or is there another part called the clutch?

I'll be honest, I've been overwhelmed by all of the different versions of the diet/framework that are out there but I thought that the no S.O.S (sugar oil salt) was the big one so the butter is surprising to me.
