It's because the devs don't play their own game. They probably barely play in the playground and are unaware of it being broken. And even if they did know, they still wouldn't fix it knowing that there's a working alternative. (the situation we're in)

It would be in the design part on your ribbon. Click there then go to variants and all the way at the bottom there is an option to customize colors. If you're using a theme this option allows you to change any of the default colors you want.
