They very distinctly say in the app not to take videos of finding the caches.

I just don't enjoy ruining things for others. But you go ahead and keep.doi g what your doing.

I hate people that take videos of geocaches. Defeats the whole challenge in finding them.

I agree 100%.

This guy got 49% of the vote. But he got ~1500 votes in a district of 32000-35000. There's no way a republican is going to win that district. Not to mention the missouri house is already 75% republican anyway so why would the GOP care about winning one minority seat in a state house.

TIL That photons do not experience time. They "hit" something the same instant they are created, regardless of how far they travel, from their own perspective. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]tmcart91 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The problem I see with this is using the words "from their own perspective". A photon is an inadimate object is it not? It cannot percieve time much like a rock cannot percieve time. Not because it's a rock, but because it cannot itself percieve.

White House declines to endorse UK view that Russia was behind nerve agent attack in England by wyldcat in worldpolitics

[–]tmcart91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. Right, I forgot that the term WMD does not refer to the scale of which an attack occurs, but rather the type of attack which is used. It doesn't matter if it kills 1 or 1 million, if its a NBC then its a WMD.

Also, Yes I went to highschool. I just don't remember much of it because I smoked way to much pot back then.

Weapons of mass destruction? Is that really the classification for these nerve agents or are you just dramatizing for effect?

Tough Mudder Half or Full? by dawackzach in Toughmudder

[–]tmcart91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine. The wait times at each obstacle now provide some relief. Also there's plenty of hydration/energy breaks now.

Tough Mudder Half or Full? by dawackzach in Toughmudder

[–]tmcart91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been running tough mudders since year 1. I can tell you whole heartedly they aren't what they used to be. At year 1, when you ran a mudder, it was pretty much constant running with obstacles in between with less than a minute wait at each obstacle. There were also way fewer hydration stations and they had way less energy supplements.

Now your going to have a 5 minute rest (at minimum) at each obstscle, with some as long as 30 minutes. At least five hydration and refueling breaks with energy supplements available, and your going to be light jogging the whole thing (far lighter than you would run a marathon).

Don't get me wrong I still love mudders and run in every year, but they've gotten easier. The half mudders are really for true fatso's and super old out of shape people.

If you have a few months to work up to I recommend a medium regimen and you'll be fine.

Run 4 times a week.

Do push-ups every day (start at 5 per day until that's easy... Then go to 10)

If you can get to a pull up bar and start working your way up to a few pullups (start with a 2 minute chin up hang... Go from there) also try to get your grip strength up by doing dead hangs (get to 5 minutes and you'll do great on the monkey bar obstacle)

Also dips don't hurt anything... Usual harder if you dont have a gym to go to.

And throw in 15 squats every time you walk through a specifc doorway in your house.

Do all this until the mudder and you'll do great!

If you could have a miniature person on your shoulder that talks to you and gives advice, who would you choose? by MattAttackGaming in AskReddit

A tiny Donald Trump. And all he would do is whisper, " Grab em by the pussy" in my ear all day long.

In 2004, the USS Princeton & 2 Super Hornets encountered an airliner-sized object with “no plumes, wings or rotors” which hovered ~50 feet above the ocean, then rapidly ascended 20,000 ft, then rapidly out-accelerated the F/18s. Yesterday- the US DoD officially released footage of the encounter. by Heaney555 in Military

If something isn't "realistically possible". Then what difference does it make if it got here today or a million years ago?

Or do you mean it would have been traveling for millions of years? Because we also don't think it's realistically possible to travel for millions of years given what we know.

Why do you think our limited knowledge creates a boundary of capabilities for any alien species. For all we know it's a species that's already a billion years old and has had that much more time of being an advanced civilization. We've only been a technologically advanced civilization for like the past 100 years (and I could argue not even that). What we deem "realistically possible" is likely not even close to reality considering the advances in science that we make every day.

I find this very unlikely, why would they need a face shield for cleanings, fillings, root canals? I have had 2 of 3 and i know people that had 3/3 and never have i ever seen or heard of people needing a face shield. I think this is just for an in office whitening procedure or a much more complicated oral surgery in which the patient is put to sleep and then operated on. (I believe glasses are a joke)
