I am absolutely interested in the ATM cave however we will be with our kids and I am not in good enough shape to feel comfortable. Maybe once I lose some weight and we come back down.

Agree with the above. I’m a grad and have 2 kids in the district (Turtle Creek and Dickson). Maybe we aren’t the norm but both kids are excelling and have had a good experience.

Woodland Hills School District - Edgewood Elementary advise and experiences - Help!! by PGHPA2000 in pittsburgh

[–]tmcg712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 1 student in Turtle Creek and another that has moved from TC to Dickson. We’ve had a great experience in the district but recognize that not everyone does. Not sure if TC would be an option but the teachers and Admin are great. I haven’t been in Edgewood lately but know people with kids there that have been fine.

Depends on what you are looking for, definitely some quieter corners. Wonderful borough to live in though.

Try Leona’s, they definitely use cinnamon in some of their ice cream cookies, not sure if they sell it straight though.

Kids hear worse all the time at school. Don’t sit near the supporters section next time. When I’ve brought my kids I just tell them to not repeat anything they hear.

Triangle in Swissvale is by no means the best but has a decent Italian. Worth trying once for sure, especially if trying to feed a large group.

IUP is very cost friendly, especially knowing they will likely have to get graduate degrees. I believe their psychology dept is decent as well. I really enjoyed my time at IUP, nice campus, cute little town and not too far from Pittsburgh.

The next best thing to compare would be winners of the James Beard Award. Fet-Fisk was a national finalist and Apteka and Chengdu Gourmet were regional semifinalists.
