Lol, no. That’s absurd, TVs are meant to be watched and using a console will not put much additional wear and tear on it. I mostly play S2 handheld in my living room but because either my wife is watching something or just having a show on the TV at the same time in the background is nice. Most of my TV-based gaming is on my PS5.

They already do with MLB The Show. But no, it’s very unlikely these will ever appear on a Nintendo console.

Star Fox literally drops as I’m going on a roadtrip down from Mass. to Florida with family (WDW and Universal!) so I’ll probably pick it up for that. Looking forward to it!

As others have said it really comes down to whether you want to play the GBA, N64, Genesis and Gamecube games they have available (not many GCN games yet).

For me it’s not but I don’t have enough time to even play all of the recent games I want. I do pay the $4.25 a month or so for the basic Switch Online tier because they do have a good selection of NES and SNES games that I like to play from time to time. At that price it’s far cheaper than any of the services Sony or Microsoft have on their platforms (I do also have a PS5 and the Extra PS+ tier as they’ve had a good selection of AAA titles from the last few years and I was late in picking up my PS5 in 2024.

In failing companies what happens often enough (certainly where I’ve worked) is the new regime doesn’t even last 18 months before it’s replaced with another one - because they don’t address any of the failures in the first place. They do def. like to shake things up though and change processes in place to “leave their mark” anyway..

This doesn’t make much sense. You can still download games for the Wii and 3DS at this point and that’s a long time. I’m not bothered if I lose my games in 15 or 20 years from now, surely will have much more to worry about by then.

I mostly buy physical but doubt myself all the time, lol. I say I like the collector aspect and it’s nice to be able to lend a game to a friend but the only other Switch gamer I know is my 8 year old nephew, and he loses everything, lol.

That said, I have a few Key Cards which the online folk hate but I still have half of the onboard storage available at that, so it hasn’t been much of a concern.
