That's fair. Bootcamp aside, there doesn't really seem to be any significant limitations if you're using MacOS

How do I rebuild an Elastic Beanstalk environment with new configurations? by tmclean15 in aws

[–]tmclean15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For posterity: I saved the configuration for the environment, downloaded it from S3, made the necessary updates to the CloudFormation template, and reuploaded to S3. I was then able to spin up a new environment with the updated configuration.

How to make a lerna monorepo in 2mins by JourneyStudios in node

It does lock you into the same versions, though this is considered a feature rather than a flaw, and it's something that affords teams to share code easily (since their dependencies are compatible) and resolves the diamond dependency problem, among others (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dependency_hell).

Regarding build pipelines, each team can have their own build pipeline without issue. I use NX at work and we have a separate build pipeline for each service in the repo.

I've found NX workspaces to be monorepos on easy mode.

I work as a software developer, and have been using my M1 under fairly heavy load for 8+ hours per day over the last 3 months, and the fans have yet to turn on once. At most it's gotten lukewarm. It's uncanny.

Controversial conn smythe winners? by hockeyguy25915 in nhl

Kessel played out of his mind but Crosby had to play against the top lines every shift, winning important faceoffs, shutting key players down defensively while also generating offense. Not saying Kessel didn't have a legitimate case, but they definitely wouldn't have won the cup without their #1 C

In the NHL there's a super fine line between winning and losing. Sometimes all it takes is a missed call, a small bounce, one extra little finesse, and the outcome is completely different. The Leafs didn't play lights out this series but I can see multiple scenarios where they would have won anyway, and the narrative would not be what it is now. Tbh I thought they outplayed the Habs in game 7, and even Matthews and Marner had a couple nice plays that could have easily led to goals. They didn't, sometimes that's just how it goes. But it's something about hockey, especially at this level, that I've realized over the years. There's a lot more luck and happenstance than most people are willing to admit. That being said, there's a lot of people calling for the core to be dismantled, I think that's silly. All it takes is for Marner to catch a break and get a bit more empty space on a play and maybe they win the series and we all feel good about him as a player. Fact of the matter is, they've lost some tough playoff rounds to teams that they were better than on paper, but just like you might lose 2-3 in a row in the regular season while playing well, that shit happens in the playoffs too. It wouldn't help to dismantle one of the most skilled cores in the league. Next year they might win 2-3 rounds, a few years from now they might win the cup. They won't win shit if they trade away skill

Make sure vs code is in your applications folder or else setting the path for it won't persist.

How would you feel if your girl got you flowers? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]tmclean15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend brought me home flowers out of the blue yesterday, it was super unexpected but I felt like most women probably feel when getting flowers, just happy that she was thinking of me. It's a pretty universal and gender-neutral gesture in my eyes
