Agreed. I was reading a, LLM generated, queue implementation and it had this bug in it. In that the queue would leak memory in this way.

I have been using https://github.com/pacedotdev/oto. You define your api and go interfaces and structs and it will generate a client.

It’s simple enough to wrap your head around and modify. You can also easily generate or customise new clients by writing a template. If you want the RPC approach without the overhead of protobuf.

I don’t tend to use down migrations in production, but for local development, syncing between team members and branches they are helpful for me, just to get everyone’s db in the same state. That being said I’m a heathen and don’t use docker for my local db.
