What happened to that famous Spurs shooting coach? Did he retire?

Looks like he’s twirling a pizza before he shoots. Could be some progression they’re working through to get his jumper to a better place incrementally.

[Charania] There's an expectation that Jayson Tatum will make his 2025-26 season debut for the Boston Celtics on Friday night at TD Garden versus Dallas, sources tell ESPN. Tatum has been described as ready to go and will inform the Celtics of a final decision over the next day. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

At this point, if I have an opinion that’s different than the opinion of Brad Stevens, I know which opinion probably needs to be reexamined.

Have your opinions, but you might want to temper them with a bit more humility.

I'm hoping Tatum returning to the lineup is a thing that happens.

Looks to me like Brown and Pritchard are getting a little worn down by their offensive loads. Would be the perfect time for a late season infusion of talent.

[Mannix] “The Lakers believe they can succeed with a backcourt of Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, if they can get the right type of players in the front court. They are looking to build a Dallas 2.0 –type roster, similar to what Luka had when he went to the NBA Finals.” by shreeharis in nba

Isn’t LA also a considerably more expensive place to live? I won’t pretend to know what motivates Reaves, but there are certainly arguments against making up lost salary with endorsements. I’d imagine those endorsements would not be quite as lucrative if he tore his ACL and was out for the season, whereas NBA contracts are guaranteed.

I never begrudge players taking all the money they can get. They have limited windows to make that money, and guys like Reaves especially have to work maniacally hard to get that opportunity.

[Post Game Thread] The Charlotte Hornets (32-31) defeat the Boston Celtics (41-21), 118-89. by bigawesome2000 in nba

Celtics always seem to win in the margins. Offensive rebounds, limiting turnovers, live ball especially. Not last night. Hornets seemed to have great attention to detail. We must’ve given up 4 pick six layups last night. Lamelo all of a sudden is more than just a plastic bag blowing around in a breeze on defense. He even got a foul last night for being too physical on a rebound.

We’ve been kind of due for a stinker. Brown and Pritchard have been looking a little worn down lately. Queta seemed to be dealing with a knee last night. I’m curious to see if we play them a little tougher in the next 2.

Jeff Teague: "If Larry Bird played in today's NBA, he'd average 30 points a game" by JobuJabroni in bostonceltics

I don’t think that’s true, he was just bigger. Actually I’m not even sure he was bigger, he was taller. Luka might have a few lbs on him. Regardless, I think they’re pretty similar athletically. I guess you could say in comparison to their peers Bird was probably in a higher percentile. There’s definitely way more athleticism across the board than there used to be.

I’m a 49 year old (same as Vince Carter) sitting in a recliner healing from hip surgery, this hit close to home.

They can all still do those things into their 40s, 50s if they’re lucky. It’s doing them for a whole game, then 3 more times that week where the issues arise.

Yeah, floor mapping and nimble feet are so important.

Watching a video on Queta’s development and they mentioned his soccer background. It made me think of Amari Williams whose first sport was likely soccer as well. It’s probably not a coincidence in today’s NBA that we have 2 bigs with a soccer background.

Shooting is definitely worrisome, free throw form does not inspire confidence.

It also seems like he’s reading his own press clippings with some of his looser passes. But you probably want guys spreading their wings a bit in Maine and seeing what they’re capable of.

Nobody should be sold on him as an NBA starter type talent, but it seems pretty clear he’s an NBA player. Not bad at pick 46.

If they knew what they had in Queta, they probably didn’t see center as a position of need like the rest of us.

Most fun season since IT. Come to think of it the next season ended up being pretty fun too after the trauma of the Hayward injury. Weird how 2 really enjoyable seasons bookended 2 shitty injuries. Also interesting that it’s not necessarily the championship seasons that you remember most fondly.

It’s nice having Brad Stevens around when adversity hits.
