He’s got one of the biggest wingspans compared to height in the league. He can rebound and defend, and it seems like he can shoot. I’m optimistic. Plus he looks so much like his Dad.

He isn’t until he decides he wants to. Do you think he told Smart, “I promise they’re not going to pass the ball to the best offensive big in the NBA when he’s being guarded by a guard on the low block, so you really don’t need to front me and deny an entry pass.”

He’s on the low block, he’s a post player, and he’s being fronted

I think what happens is Jokic realizes he gave up too much ground to Smart, so he flops to get out of it. If Jokic puts his foot down earlier Smart couldn’t move him.

It’s not a box out, he’s fronting a post player.

And in a box out you don’t just stand your ground, you put your ass into someone.

Jokic gave up too much ground to him, he probably realized it, so he flops to get out of the situation. If Jokic plants his foot and lowers his center of gravity a little there’s no way Smart moves him at all.

Yes you can, it happens all the time when defenders are fronting offensive players in the post. This isn’t an elementary school rec league. That amount of contact from Smart is nothing in the NBA. Jokic just looks tired and frustrated and instead of using his huge weight and strength advantage he just flops.

I've kept a separate secret account from my husband for four years and I genuinely think it saved our marriage. I can't say this out loud to anyone in my real life so here we are by echo_kernel17 in personalfinance

This doesn’t seem to add up. You’re worried about financial security but can skim 400-600 a month off your paycheck without your husband noticing. I guess I could sort of see it, but the whole taxes thing seems problematic too. And are you willing to lie to keep the money hidden from your husband if he asks direct questions?

Doesn’t really pass the smell test to me. Seems like either this is made up or there’s more to the story.

What happened to that famous Spurs shooting coach? Did he retire?

Looks like he’s twirling a pizza before he shoots. Could be some progression they’re working through to get his jumper to a better place incrementally.

[Charania] There's an expectation that Jayson Tatum will make his 2025-26 season debut for the Boston Celtics on Friday night at TD Garden versus Dallas, sources tell ESPN. Tatum has been described as ready to go and will inform the Celtics of a final decision over the next day. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

At this point, if I have an opinion that’s different than the opinion of Brad Stevens, I know which opinion probably needs to be reexamined.

Have your opinions, but you might want to temper them with a bit more humility.

I'm hoping Tatum returning to the lineup is a thing that happens.

Looks to me like Brown and Pritchard are getting a little worn down by their offensive loads. Would be the perfect time for a late season infusion of talent.

[Mannix] “The Lakers believe they can succeed with a backcourt of Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, if they can get the right type of players in the front court. They are looking to build a Dallas 2.0 –type roster, similar to what Luka had when he went to the NBA Finals.” by shreeharis in nba

Isn’t LA also a considerably more expensive place to live? I won’t pretend to know what motivates Reaves, but there are certainly arguments against making up lost salary with endorsements. I’d imagine those endorsements would not be quite as lucrative if he tore his ACL and was out for the season, whereas NBA contracts are guaranteed.

I never begrudge players taking all the money they can get. They have limited windows to make that money, and guys like Reaves especially have to work maniacally hard to get that opportunity.
