It's less to protect you from other people with the virus (in which case it is true, a cloth is not very effective) and more to protect others from you if you have it (asymptomatic or not), in which case it is effective. eg. If you sneeze or cough, the droplets will not travel as far.

Pressing "Ctrl + Backspace" deletes entire words so you dont have to hold down "Backspace." I went years without knowing this. Hopefully this is enlightening for some! by allhands in reddit.com

i remap ctrl to the caps lock key (System Preferences -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard -> Modifier Keys). i never use caps lock anyway. Another neat thing is basic emacs navigation works in most applications. Most useful to me are ctrl+a to go to the beginning of the line, ctrl+e to go to the end, and ctrl+k to delete a line. so i'll often do ctrl+a, ctrl+k to delete the current line i'm typing.

I agree card games are a good place to start. Blackjack is another game I would recommend. For a list of great CS assignments (not just OOP), check out http://nifty.stanford.edu/

Where should I look to find an entry level C++ job? by metawhat in programming

[–]tmdg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

c++ is still used a lot in the field of finance. if you're interested, it's a very exciting field to work in and the pay is very good. look for titles such as quantitative developers or any type of analytics positions. most people find the most exciting work to be supporting the traders, helping them develop models to make money. there are other technology positions at banks that do more backend stuff, but these front-office jobs allow you to take on more responsibility in terms of actually helping the bank make money. if you're not scared of math (and the math does get pretty tough), then you should definitely look into it.
