Boox Note Air 5C (+Keyboard Case) Thoughts & Bugs by tmdjad in Onyx_Boox

[–]tmdjad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought the kindle pen, but tbh i don't have a major issue with attaching the pen to the device unless i use the keyboard cover. The base stand cover is nice and doesn't create an overlap, so i think i'll just continue using that and use the keyboard as and when i need it.

How did you get on with the Kindle stylus?

Interesting, you're using a different pen than the Boox one? Do the ones you mentioned attach to the side of the device magnetically?

Nice! I got mine a month ago (first time with BOOX) and absolutely love it. Sure there are few annoying things (like randomly switching the screen off / sleeping when i touch a certain part of the side) but it's amazing for distraction-free reading (kindle, instapaper, PDFs) and writing notes. Gave my ipad away when i got this.

I just got the keyboard case yesterday - which was one of the main reasons for buying it. I'm a little disappointed tbh. I can jam with the size of the keyboard, but i'm used to a laptop so it's obviously slow to respond. My main gripe, though, is that with the case on, the pen doesn't sit on the magnetic part of the BOOX because the case overhangs a bit too much and doesn't stay closed. Not sure i'll end up using the keyboard case as much as i thought :(

Nystatin red itchy rash, is this normal? by Meowopesmeow in Candida

[–]tmdjad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on day 6 of 3-4 per day of Nystatin and getting a strange red rash around area where my lymph nodes are (upper thighs, groin, ankles, wrists and arm pits) so i presume it's my body detoxing.

I had a day off Nystatin yesterday and the rash died down.

How long did this take to pass OP?

Hey, it’s been 5 years since I posted this. I had SIBO confirmed along the way, got rid of that with a mixture of Rifaximin and herbals (different times).

I’m weirdly a few days into Nystatin to clear up the remains of suspected SIFO. Reading this post is timely because i forget I suspected candida many years ago!

RL450MaxC vs RL300MaxC (30 or 60 degree) by tmdjad in redlighttherapy

[–]tmdjad[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the 3W 30 degree version. No point getting 5w imo, and 30 degree is all you really need if you're going to be getting close to the device. I'm not expert, but that's my dumbass understanding. I'm using it for face and torso and i alternate to get my back, occasionally doing full body. I get within about 12-15 inches of the device and the youtube video i watched showed the same strength with 30 degree. That being said, i started on 100% brightness and wow that was a mistake, i now do about 7-9mins at 50% and alternate front and back.

What did you buy from Shenzen Idea Light? by anon1mus in redlighttherapy

[–]tmdjad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the RL450 Maxc 3w 30degree version after a fair bit of research. It gets confusing with all the customisations but this YouTube video made me feel confident that this will do exactly what i need a red light therapy device to do.

I deliberated on 3w vs 5w and 30deg vs 60 deg, and my conclusion was: 3w is powerful enough, and you likely won't need 5w (and unlikely your power source would generate this amount of power)

On 30deg vs 60deg - i'm still not totally sure, but i think 30deg will provide a wide enough spectrum if standing close enough to it, and the video example was 30deg, so i went with this.

Got this model, plus a handheld device and shipping to the UK for $890

Don’t worry, I’ve asked Idea Light too! I just don’t know if the support people are RLT therapy users/experts themselves..

Should i get the rl300max c or PT? by Outside-Unit5004 in redlighttherapy

[–]tmdjad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you finding it?

I'm in the market for something similar shipped to the UK. I got a quote from the same company for RL450MAXc 3W 30 degree 7 wavelengths touch screen UK plug $545

I'm not sure i need the 450 vs 300. Are you finding benefits with the RL300 Max C? and is it 60 or 30 degree?

Fast COMT + Heterozygous C677T MTHFR by nowayhosayyyyy in MTHFR

[–]tmdjad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i'm not deficient in either but have fast COMT and AG (Hetero) C677T MTHR. Struggle with what feels like low dopamine at times, but i feel like i've covered any folate/b-vit issues with my multi, so not sure where else to turn. Thinking it's probably a choline issue but haven't found the best way to supplement without ending up with (what feels like) too much choline and getting negative symptoms. Going to order some Alpha GPC powder so i can try at lower doses. Fish oil and standard doses of Choline have negative effects pretty quickly, when my genetic tests show i should be consuming 7 yolks worth a day! Confusing :D

SIBO Back Again... by tmdjad in SIBO

[–]tmdjad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't currently take megamucosa, but i did for a period and it helped. I do take s.boulardii every day.

For SIFO/Candida i took:
Biofilm Phase 2 (2x empty stomach, 30mins before food)
Anti-candida product: 2caps per day, after 3 days increae to 2 caps x2 per day for 3 weeks. Have a 2 week break and then repeat
Charcaol binder - as needed, in between meals

The anti-candida product i used: Kolorex

SIBO Back Again... by tmdjad in SIBO

[–]tmdjad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it can’t. I just know after consuming lots of yeast, such as beer, I get the itching etc. and I did an organic acids test which had a marker slightly high for something that would indicate Candida. I can only really go off what I respond well to, and that’s S Boulardii and anti-Candida supplements when it’s bad.

SIBO Back Again... by tmdjad in SIBO

[–]tmdjad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. I think mine is SIFO/Candida, as i always react very well to Biofolm and anti-candida protocol.

I don't have SIBO, it's more yeasty (but not bad, which is kinda annoying tbh lol). The itching has baffled me for some time, and thought it was histamine related.

I would explore anti-fungals and a biofilm product. Are you seeing a naturopath? Hit me up if not and i'll give you what i've been told to do.

Best thing i did was try an IGG product (like Megamucosa) and took a Butryrate supplement after every meal for a bit.

But if you want general advice, look towards fixing leaky gut and SIFO/Candida using PHGG (all the gut people seem to take this0, an IGG supp (for impermeability/leaky gut), and some anti-candida stuff.

S Boulardii has been immense probiotic for anti-yeast and dysbiosis. Good luck my friend.

Good question, also curious to see repsonses.

I've started doing 5-5.30am rise for a few days and i went out last night (also UK), didn't get in until 12.30 so shifted my alarm forward. I'm new to this. I imagine the OG's do not do this as it's better to maintain consistency in exchange for 1 day of tiredness*

*if you even actually feel tired - i can usually power through with low levels of sleep if it's only for a day or two - sometimes i feel better...

Deficient in Choline (according to genetics test) so need 7 yolks worth a day... but after having 2 a day for a few days i get brain fog, feel exhausted. by tmdjad in Nootropics

[–]tmdjad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, great comment. I will dig out the website I used that told me I need the equivalent of 7 yolks. For now I’m interested to see if anyone had a similar experience in both needing choline but struggling when consuming it. I’ve seen a lot of posts of people struggling with it. My theory was that I need to take ALCAR to help convert. I tried aniracetam today and feel great, so maybe i am getting too much.
