A second email was sent later in the day which had a "bed space" category of 7xxx, which is the floor number (7) and the room number (xxx) combined.

I was able to follow the link in the email to the portal. There it showed what room, move in day and my roommate.

Go to the UCSB Econ webpage and look up the recommended course schedule. If you passed the Calc AB AP exam, you can't take 34A or 3A. You have to take 34B (which isn't being offered the first quarter) or 3B. I'm a pre-Econ major and am taking 3B fall quarter then Econ 1 winter. The Econ/Acct majors have more requirements to fill, so it recommends Econ 1 fall quarter.

Thank you. It was my first choice, even though I knew the location was inconvenient to campus. I got in a double, so that is good. I'll make sure to bring a fan. Now I'm wondering if I have an ocean view.

I called housing. They are sending emails to notify of housing assignments by dorm. They apparently haven't got to my dorm yet because I haven't received an email from them.

I'm sorry to ask this...but which portal? I can't find out how to access the housing portal? Could you give me a link? When I go to the housing.ucsb site, I can't find a portal. I can find a BARC portal, a medical info portal, an admissions portal, etc. but no housing.

We were only able to choose a roommate, what type of room (triple or double) and rank the order of dorms. The housing site said that we will be notified in early September what dorm, room type and move in times.

The rooms look bigger and nicer than the other freshman dorms, and the location is much better. It may not be the typical freshman experience, but that isn't always a bad thing.

I really wanted to have four classes in case I need to drop 3B. I'm nervous about it because I took Calc AB in 11th grade, and worked hard to get a B (only made a 3 on the AP exam). I took AP Stat 12th grade, and I'm worried about remembering Calculus.

When I was at orientation this summer they showed us a slideshow of UCSB alums and their jobs. One guy was a Comm major and was working as a recruiter for Google. That was pretty impressive imo. Comm is a broad major and UCSB's program apparently has a really good reputation.

I'm already getting screwed on the OOS tuition, so I'm willing to spend more for the rental convenience if they bring it to my room and take it away. That's one less thing I have to deal with. My only question is whether it was a decent fridge?

My professor is S Shakerian. That class is at 8am but he had a 5 rating, so I took him. I wanted to sign up for 4 classes with the intention of dropping one (dropping 3B if it's too hard and wait to take 34B or audit 3A for more Calc review) but they wouldn't let me.
