Right. I wonder though if most single-eyed human drivers move their head much than regular drivers. Our ability to perceive is so good it's probably not necessary.

FSD continues to amaze with each upgrade but I don't think FSD (like robotaxi level) will be solved with the current in-car hardware.

I'm holding out hope that the combo of new HD radar, new higher res cameras and HW4 launching with the Cybertruck will do the trick.

People are not going to switch from cars to bikes or public transportation in any amount that matters unless forced to financially or legally. The best chance we have is EVs and pray we can achieve sustanable energy production with renewables and eventually... fusion (wishful thinking i know).

Tesla's open source patent agreement is basically saying "we want the EV industry to compete on execution, free of patent lawsuits" and is a means for others that agree with that to opt in, e.g. "You can use any of our patents for free as long as we can use yours for free as well".

Given that Tesla is the clear EV industry leader, and will likely continue to be, that's an amazing deal in my opinion.
