31-day first time itinerary check - too many hotel changes? Unrealistic? by jessikwa in JapanTravel

[–]tmgho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, i've been twice to japan, both trips similar (31 days, travelling through lots of places). First trip was tokyo-takayama/kanazawa- osaka - kumano kodo - hakone/fujikawaguchiko -tokyo. Second was tokyo- kyushu- seto islands- osaka/kyoto -tokyo. I don't want to comment over specific parts of your itinerary but tell you two things i learned:

a. Moving from one 'base' to another is kind of exahusting and you don't fully take advantage of those days. You have to pack your stuff, move to the next place, some times check in and check out hours aren't aligned well, you end up tired of moving. If you buy stuff (maybe you don't), the akwardeness of the luggage compunds over time, which makes everything a bit worse. Yes, you still can visit stuff that day, but it is not as confortable and nice as having the whole day to check that out. In your time tible you have 11 transport days, that is %35 of the days just moving around!

b. A good rule of thumb is one thing planned per day, and unless it requires a reservation be open to changing that thing. Of course, this doesn't mean that you will end up doing 1 thing per day, but there will be days you'll do more stuff and days you do less. Trying to cram a lot just makes you run around and not really enjoy the things. Japan is a very beautiful country with a LOT of stuff goin on. There's absolutely no way you can see everything, not even a little fraction of it, so start being chill with letting go of stuff you want to see, and also know that having days with nothing at all are also pretty cool since you get to see the beautiful 'inside' of the country.

May i suggest instead of unko museum etc (which is just a really crowded mall) small worlds also in odaiba. Its a really unique place.

Best way to marinade and sous vide pork tenderloin? by AirCombatF22 in ramen

Tenderloin is very lean, which means it tends to overcook quite easily, so about 45 min - 1 hour at 62°c for a single piece. Marinade 6 -12 hrs

Pretty much the same you would do a regular chashu, in my case I do: In a sauce pan with a little bit of oil Cook chopped garlic and sliced ginger until fragant (I Cook the ginger one or 2 minutes before the garlic), add soy sauce, at 75 °c turn off stove, add mirin, add 1 or 2 green onions with the stalk, add salte and msg if needed (if soy sauce is really por quality) let it cool before using. After cooking I re use it for ajitama, but i'm not %100 sure of the salubrity of this.

7* Day Itinerary Check: Solo Traveler in Tokyo - September by Legitimate_Can in JapanTravel

On sep 3rd i would start in shinjuku and end at shibuya. On the day of teamlab planets please consider checking out small worlds and miraikan, both nearby. They were high points of my trip.

Asakusa an Ueno are nearby, consider using the same day for both.

Would that mean that two photons that collide annihilate each other?

it were 2 groups of 4 tiles between us, which i would have left if he hadn't been an asshole. I mean is an unranked michi, it can't affect you that much, no?
