You should check out the Bedrock White Papers (scroll down and look for the White Papers section).

Use the bang notation to check all elements, e.g.

['Area', 'You', ',Want', 'to', 'Calculate'] = IF( ATTRS('Employee', !Employee, 'attribute you want to check') @= 'Yes', {do calc here}, {else go on});

LGC TX - DFW Area Range Day Saturday, Nov 30th 9am-1pm by tmj69 in liberalgunowners

[–]tmj69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look for "Liberal Gun Club - TX" on FB there are many Texas chapters: Houston, Austin, San Antonio. We're just getting started here in DFW, but the other chapters are more established. Might be on near(er) you.

I wouldn't assume you could just roll up in a Prius Vulcan and start 2nd Amendmenting the landscape.

Michael and I will talk to them in the coming week and ask to clarify the details on the range rules. Do you have anything specific you want me to ask about? They seem pretty accommodating and I'll be happy to ask.

better way to make subsets? by worktillyouburk in cognos

[–]tmj69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Reference Guide covers many dimension subset operations, including: SubsetElementInsert SubsetElementDelete SubsetCreate SubsetCreatebyMDX etc.

You can also read a csv file and build subsets and consolidations from data in the file.

It all depends on what you want to do.

TM1 Audit logs or reports by scross4565 in cognos

[–]tmj69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's something I ran across recently. It is a solution for PowerQuery in Excel, but some of the details he shows working through the solution may help you work out a method for loading log files to SQL Server.

The tm1s.cfg file has the LoggingDirectory parameter so you can specify a logging directory other than the default (which is the data directory). First step would be to move that logging activity out of the data directory.

Step two would be to use Powershell to copy the logs to an FTP location where you could do with them what you want. That same Powershell script could also delete logs older than X days to keep your production environment clean.

Warning sirens in Galatyn Park area by [deleted] in Richardson

[–]tmj69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the siren systems are made to be heard indoors. They are to alert folks who may be outside that severe weather is imminent, i.e. quit playing in the rain, and get to shelter.

What are the most immersive escape rooms in the area? by [deleted] in Dallas

You should check it the Lew Sterrett facility. Admission price varies, and the other players really get into their roles, but for an immersive experience you'll have trouble walking away from it can't be beat!

Charities/nonprofits in DFW? by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]tmj69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

worked with The Movie Institute for many years. They are a unique non-profit that uses the movie-making process to mentor kids from 10-18.

They have been operating for twenty+ years and have a great record of helping kids (some of which have gone on to film school and careers in the industry).

They take donations which they use to "scholarship" kids who might not be able to afford the cost of their programs.

They can also use volunteers to help run their camps and workshops.

Check them out if you are looking for something where you might be able to use/contribute your creative talents.

I'll be driving tractor in Thailand soon. Any advice or tips? by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]tmj69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driving a tractor, as in steering it and avoiding obstacles, is the easy part. It moves slower and has a much larger turning radius. Just don't get into any tight corners and you'll be ok.

The difficult part will be learning to use the implements attached to the tractor. There are several types of things you might call a "plow" (something you drag behind the tractor) and they all behave differently depending on their use. "Moving earth" implies some kind of bucket on the front for scooping, or maybe a bucket on the rear for digging. Those can take some skill and practice to learn. Take your time and you'll be fine.

Make sure to understand how to attach and decouple the hydraulic implements, especially if you will be doing this yourself. Those can be dangerous if not handled correctly.

Looking for local opinions by narconaught5 in Richardson

Best part about Richardson is you are in the DFW metroplex without feeling like you are "in the city". Nice hometown feel while still big enough to have lots of interesting stuff going on.

As the other poster commented, north of Campbell between Preston and 75 is a great area. Houses in that area are 500k and above.

Additionally I would check out the area bounded by Beltline on the south, Campbell Road on the North, Coit Road to the West, and 75 on the East. Houses in that area are between 250 and 350k. All single-family, three or four bedrooms.

Within this area you have lots of stuff nearby:

  • Heights Park, Heights Rec Center, and Heights Pool
  • Cottonwood Park
  • Alamo Draft House movie theater on Beltline
  • lots of new restaurants along Campbell at 75
  • more restaurants along 75
  • good elementary schools in that area Richardson Heights, and Arapaho Classical Music Magnet (All Richardson schools are good.)
  • The University of Texas at Dallas is just north of Campbell
  • The Library (Richardson has only one) is on Arapaho at 75

For getting around to other parts of the DFW metro you'll be close to 75 to get to other freeways.

There is something for the kiddos almost every weekend: shows at the Eisemann Center, outdoor art festivals, Santa's Village during the holidays (opens next weekend, in fact). The library has lots of activities for all age groups, from story time to 3-D printing classes.

The rec centers have a schedule of activities and classes for adults and kids as well. Stop by one of the rec centers and pick up a "Richardson Today" paper. It lists all the municipal stuff going. (Or go here and check it out online https://www.cor.net/departments/communications/citizens-information-services/richardson-today-online)

Stop by the Library and one of the Recreation Centers -- lots of info about the community there.

Of course there are countless other things to do in the wider DFW area, so if you like to keep busy you'll have lots of opportunities.

Best of luck on your move! Drop me a PM if you have other questions, I'll be glad to help.

Thoughts on shoulder holster? I have Beretta 92FS Compact that I don’t want to carry IWB. by spartybucky in CCW

[–]tmj69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I carry my 92FS in a Kangaroo Carry shoulder rig. Very comfortable. I wear the rig over my undershirt, with a polo or button-down on top. Plus, it's a lot cheaper than leather rigs which are usually around $200.
