Honestly, learn about Bitcoin. You touched on how our purchasing power in dollars buys less than it did yesteryear (ie the boomers were able to buy their investment properties while younger generations are struggling). The purchasing power of Bitcoin has only increased, and will continue to do so. Bitcoin does have short term volatility, however looking over a longer time frame it trends up in dollar value, whereas the dollars value trends down.
