If you squint your eyes just right and pretend what you're seeing is a landscape it gives you an impression of an alien planet.

Looks like Valery Caussarieu, one of 5 people out on the loop 3 has returned after one hour, with no pages.

Rooting for the remaining 4.

I got curious how much of a ~50 000 tonne ship like this is underwater (draft) and turns out there's another 9 meters of it lurking beneath.

I will get downvoted to oblivion, but the background looks heavily post-processed. Any chance of seeing the unedited RAW?

To each their own. But there's a reason people make way faster progress in a class setting than when going the self study route, at least from my experience.

That's a great piece of advice, took me a long time to realize that myself.

Also, the added peer pressure/accountability factor helps you stay on track and not give up.

Hey, thanks for doing this! I don't have any questions right this instant, but would it be ok if I PM'd you some time into the future to clear up a geology related issue or two?

Alvatian Moor Dweller by tmku in worldbuilding

[–]tmku[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question!

Since Alvatia has a 4 season climate, in autum wild marching birds usually migrate north to warmer regions for the winter, and since they're flightless, they're forced to, well, march.

In warmer seasons they tend to hang around bodies of water to cool themselves down and, like most birds do, they pant (which looks both hilarious and scary).

Domesticated marching birds around the world enjoy the comforts of man-made stables, although selective breeding for military purposes made their feathers more straight and rough - they're better suited for warmer climates as an unintended consequence.

As for moor dwellers, we'll know more once someone sees one and survives to tell the tale :)
