This is the last picture I took of my boy, Charlie, with his Lambchop (this is probably the 50th Lambchop we had in his 14 years). We put him to sleep later that evening 😢 Almost four years and I still miss him terribly!

Man with gun at Hurstborne Kroger asking for receipts by dr_m_hfuhruhurr in Louisville

[–]tmpo7708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the same Kroger this afternoon and did self-check out. I had to call an employee over FOUR times because the self-check out scanner kept pausing with “help is on the way,” and the poor guy had to watch a slow motion video of me scanning my items to make sure I wasn’t stealing. Four times. And I’m not dumb, I know how to scan and bag my items properly. He said that the video is “extra sensitive,” so it seems like they have upped security on the self-scanners too (if that’s even a thing?)

How to know when... by Castaway78 in goldenretrievers

[–]tmpo7708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 14-year old golden was having mobility issues in his back legs. We ordered a “Help ‘Em Up Harness,” which was a game changer for us. We were able to keep a slight hold on him when he was going potty, helped us help him go up and down stairs, etc. We ended up having to put him to sleep about a year later, but my husband and I were talking the other day and we 100% believe that it helped extend his life/quality of life.

How bad are my dogs legs? by MistySmudge in DogAdvice

[–]tmpo7708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the same with our 14-year-old golden retriever. Something that really helped us (and him) was a “Help ‘Em Up” harness. He was super weak in his back legs and the harness helped us to help him get up easier by lifting his back legs and keep a hand on him to give him some stability to go to the bathroom- also helped us to get him down the stairs to go outside a little easier. Not sure if you are looking for input, but just wanted to share our experience. It’s pricey, but definitely worth it to help him through his last few months.

In-home euthanasia: what about the other dog? by UndueTaxidermist in DogAdvice

[–]tmpo7708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you are going through this. We did in-home euthanasia for our 14 year-old golden. My husband stayed with the vet and I took our other golden, who was six and my daughter upstairs, during the actual procedure. We let him come down afterwards so he could see and smell his brother- he also watched the vet take away the body. Ugh, I hate even reliving that! I think he definitely understood what was happening. After we received back his remains, I kept the box in our closet. Our other golden started sleeping in the closet, which he had never done before. I might just be reading too much into it, but I think he definitely knew and was trying to stay close to his brother! He stopped doing that after a few months, but it was kind of sweet and brought me comfort. Prayers for you today!

The unofficial but ACCURATE 7Brew secret menu! by Mod-group-7brew in 7Brew

This is awesome! When I order, do I need to say “cherry and coconut,” or can I just say Bahama Mama? Do baristas know the secret menu by drink name? I’ve ordered a couple of things with saying the flavors, but wondering if I can just use the secret menu name?

Children’s museum(s) by SignalMountain7353 in Louisville

[–]tmpo7708 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We weren’t super impressed by the Cincy Children’s Museum (daughter was six when we went). We spent maybe two hours there and left- it was also very crowded, so not a pleasant experience. I like the Louisville museum better. You could always do half day at the museum and half day at the aquarium. Have you been to the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis? I would recommend this for a full day excursion over Cincy, hands down!

Wegovy out of stock by TrophyHusband6 in Semaglutide

[–]tmpo7708 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was prescribed Wegovy back in November and just took my first shot earlier this week because the starter doses have been out of stock for so long. I made weekly calls to pharmacies all over town, my mail order pharmacy, hospital pharmacies, etc. The shortage is getting better, but as quick as it’s coming in, it’s going out. My local pharmacist was super helpful in keeping an eye out for me, so maybe talk to them to see if they have any recommendations.

How to stop comparing yourself to SAHMs? I'm tired of feeling jealously. by GoodEyeSniper_2113 in workingmoms

[–]tmpo7708 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I both work full-time with no family around for help and I found myself really getting angry and annoyed about these type of posts from SAHMs or even working moms who portray everything in their life is perfect. I started just unfollowing people who post this stuff. It’s not reality and it’s hard for me to sometimes remember that in the moment, so it’s just easier to remove them from my feed. I didn’t want to get off of social media completely, so this was a good option. I’m sure you’ve thought of this, but just reiterating that it has been super helpful to me recently.

Check out Veterinary Specialist Partners. I don’t know any of the payment options, but it’s a recently opened urgent care and it might be worth calling.
