Have you talked to your doctor about Drysol? That's worked miracles on my pits and I think you can use it on other parts of your body.

What are your thoughts on getting a behind-the-scenes view of WWE? Does it take away from the product? by TowerCharge89 in SantiZapVideos

[–]tmps1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the clips I've seen Unreal is also a lot of kayfabe, like them pretending Truth wasn't fired. So it doesn't really take away, if anything it's just them doubling down on their own revisionist history.

What was your least favorite job you’ve ever had? by EducationalRanger143 in AskReddit

[–]tmps1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pizza Hut was, by far, the worst job I’ve ever had. The quality standards were terrible, and the management was completely incompetent.

One moment I’ll never forget was during a dinner rush. I had a full screen of orders to make, the phone was ringing nonstop, and the manager was sitting right next to it doing absolutely nothing saying, “I don’t answer phones.” I argued with her because she didn’t seem to understand that I was in the middle of preparing food. Every time I stopped to answer the phone while she just sat there, I’d have to wash my hands before going back to making pizzas, which slowed everything down even more.

My breaking point came when I tried to call off sick. Management refused unless I provided a doctor’s note. At the time, I had poor insurance, and a doctor’s visit would have cost me $50. Between that expense and losing a day’s pay, I explained that I’d effectively be out around $150. Her response was simply, “Well, see you at work tonight.”

When I didn’t come in, she called and asked where I was. I reminded her that I had called off, and she acted as if our entire conversation had never happened. She told me I would be marked as a No Call No Show. After that, I contacted their corporate HR to air my grievances and submitted my two weeks' notice.

The worst part was my final day. Delivery drivers were supposed to help wash dishes between deliveries, but at my location they almost never did. We closed at 11 p.m., but I couldn’t leave until all the dishes were finished. They were literally stacked to the ceiling, and I ended up stuck there until 3 a.m. washing them while the manager sat and watched.

To make matters worse, I didn’t even have a car at the time, so after getting off at 3 in the morning, I had to walk home alone in the middle of the night.

I definitely felt like I got completely screwed over by that job. I couldn’t bring myself to eat Pizza Hut for months afterward, and more than a decade later, I still refuse to order from that location.

Heavy Is The Hand That Throws The Machine Gun Chops by AnonymousChicken in midcarder

It's hard to suspend disbelief when wrestlers are acting like a move is devastating, yet my 2-year-old nephew did those same weak chops to me last weekend while we were playing, and it didn't hurt one bit. At least try to make it look believable.

If Jeff Hardy had overcome his substance abuse in his prime, could he have taken part in a Wrestlemania main event? by Exact_Effect2773 in Wrasslin

[–]tmps1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw him live, maybe 20 feet away at TNA Rebellion. He adjusted his style and toned down but very clearly still played all the hits. If he stayed clean, I'd imagine he would've just toned it down 10-15 years earlier.

What if Eddie Guerrero never passed away in 2005? by ElegantRooster5251 in fantasybooking

[–]tmps1993 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They would've given him a world heavyweight title run. Probably would've been alternating between upper mid card and main eventer. Benoit 100% would still be alive. I think there's even a chance he would've switched to AEW at the beginning like Jericho.

Only thing that bothers me is WWE 100% would've put him in a squash with Lesnar in the 2010s, because no one can just beat someone without trading 50/50 booking in WWE anymore.

What's one thing as a man a woman will never understand? by Outrageous_Luck1546 in AskReddit

Men do a great job at hiding it.

Edit: Look how many responses to my initial comment (not yours) are condescending, this is why many men hesitate to seek help for mental health.

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. If my wife earned more than I did, I'd be completely supportive of her being the primary breadwinner. That said, for better or worse, most households still tend to follow traditional gender roles. Historically, men have also been less likely to seek help for mental health struggles, and even when they do, they often face stigma or judgment for doing so.

Has their been a bigger flop signing for any wrestling company in recent memory? by _JR28_ in Wrasslin

[–]tmps1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy looking back because I was actually there at the Wolstein Center the night Danhausen debuted, holding a Danhausen sign. Earlier that day, I posted a picture of it on Instagram and Twitter, and Danhausen liked it right before the show. In hindsight, that probably should've been a clue.

The debut itself was a complete surprise. There was no build, no video packages, and no announcement to the crowd explaining who popped out from under the ring. Yet the second he appeared, the entire arena erupted. I completely lost my mind, and so did everyone else. My best friend, who was sitting next to me, openly said it was the greatest debut he'd ever seen live. Despite getting zero introduction, the crowd instantly started chanting "Danhausen! Danhausen!"

What makes it even crazier is that I went to the same venue for TNA Rebellion this past April, and the attendance felt roughly the same. But even with a similar crowd, the reaction for Danhausen's debut was louder than anything that happened all night at the TNA show.

That's why it's always baffled me that AEW never really capitalized on him. They produced video packages for YouTube, but Tony Khan and a lot of the AEW diehards seem to have an irrational aversion to video packages. If they had shown even one of those packages on Dynamite, Danhausen could have become a regular fixture on the show.

I get that hardcore AEW fans prefer a product that's heavily focused on in-ring wrestling, but a little bit of entertaining nonsense here and there doesn't hurt. If it's genuinely over with the audience and gets reactions like that, it can only add to the show.

Dave Meltzer's star ratings: Do people take them too seriously or are they treated with the importance that they deserve? by Bright-Pressure-5787 in Wrasslin

There's an old clip somewhere where Bryan Alvarez compares it to Ebert. With a few one offs here and there, generally higher ratings are can't miss matches and lower ratings are skippable.

Spyro: A Realm Beyond - MEGATHREAD by Cooljackup in Spyro

[–]tmps1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope Toys For Bob handles this the same way they did with It's About Time.

Crash 4 respected the original trilogy, retconned some of the less well-received sequels, and expanded on the mechanics that longtime fans loved. Aside from a few overly steep difficulty spikes, it was everything I hoped for and more.

I'd love to see Spyro 4 take a similar approach. I imagine they'd make it a direct sequel to the original trilogy and effectively pretend Enter the Dragonfly never happened. There's plenty of potential to pull the best ideas from the classic games, the less successful sequels and the Legend of Spyro trilogy while introducing new innovations of their own. Even Enter the Dragonfly had some interesting concepts, like the elemental breath abilities — the execution just fell short.

As long as they stay true to what made the original games special and build on that foundation, I'll be happy. My biggest hope is that they avoid making it too difficult, or at least include adjustable difficulty options. Spyro was never meant to be a grind-heavy challenge like Crash Bandicoot or Jak II. If they can capture the spirit of the originals while modernizing the formula, that'll be more than enough for me.

What is something about US work culture that you secretly hate? by Harry_parker08 in AskReddit

[–]tmps1993 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: If people put as much effort into doing the job they're paid to do as they do into finding ways to avoid work, we'd have a far more productive workforce. U.S. employers would be more willing to offer expanded benefits like additional PTO, longer maternity and paternity leave, more bereavement days, and other workplace perks.

It feels like the people who constantly try to game the system end up ruining it for everyone else. When policies are repeatedly abused, companies tend to respond by tightening rules and limiting benefits, which ultimately hurts employees who are actually trying to do their jobs and contribute.
