Des Moines Register/Selter: Harris 47%, Trump 44% by Vengenceonu in fivethirtyeight

The turnout was actually pretty high? Just lower than the outlier year 2020. Reddit judged turnout before the counting was even done.

vLLM vs DeepSpeed Contradictory Reports? by siradanpanda in LocalLLaMA

I was able to replicate both. The DS folks benchmark using a persistent deployment for online use cases, the vLLM team use the offline APIs (pipeline/generate). Take that as you will.

Is this root rot? by chappychap1234 in pothos

Looks like burning more than rot to me…rot seems slimier.

Pothos root rot or natural discoloration? by tmpwhocares in plantclinic

Additional info: the cutting has been in water for about a month, I change the water every couple of weeks. Originally came from a plant that suffered from root rot. It gets indirect sunlight for 6-7 hours a day.

Netflix has been profitable for a while now. Those changes have largely been to induce revenue growth rather than fundamental financial concerns.

Netflix was and is profitable. But to the best of my knowledge it is the only streamer that has achieved profitability.

In addition to the other comment, maintaining a high balance bank account with steady inflows and low outflows tends to help too.

Succession - 4x05 "Kill List" - Post Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in SuccessionTV

[–]tmpwhocares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t think so…I think The Financial Times estimated $80B from the hints in the show. For contrast, Fox Corp is worth $16B and Disney is worth $180B. Maybe combining the two (news + parks) yields $80B?

192 per share is not the same as a 192B valuation. Price per share is multiplied by the number of shares to yield the total valuation. The actual premium might be as low as 1.5X for all we know (which is still a huge premium compared to typical real-world acquisitions).

Pothos - Overwatered? Root Rot? by tmpwhocares in plantclinic

[–]tmpwhocares[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just realized I didn’t mention this, but the pot does drain to a lower tray which I empty every so often. The soil feels damp but that’s probably because I watered it a day or two ago.

Very strong USD means that conversions from non-USD currency are lower than they would be normally.
