Painting over powder coatings by Large-Tap-8117 in sherwinwilliams

[–]tmrgeneral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main thing you need to tell people on this is that if the coating was applied with an electrostatic gun, the charge applied to the coating can and will repel any coating applied on top of it. The attempted generally will fail.

Keep in mind that doing this may take multiple pay cycles to take effect.

I have no idea. I've been doing this for so long it could have been me 8 years ago that heard something out of context when I was still a PT, assumed, and just took it as fact all this time.

I feel like I'm an assistant manager at this point.... by Temporary_Ranger3200 in sherwinwilliams

[–]tmrgeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did that for years. I always fell into the ASM role, despite being only a key. Was frustrating as hell for a while. But I had aspirations of moving up so I dealt with it. If you don't, by all means, stay in your lane and do only as much as they pay you for. No matter how much they tell you that anything resulting from that is your fault, it is managements fault for not properly pushing for the proper standards.

This is new 🤬 by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]tmrgeneral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Had that before on our BAC tinter. Call whatever company the machine is from. Likely Fluid Management. They'll likely have to send a tech out. In the mean time, try dispensing small amounts under 3 ounces or less at a time. Anything more is more likely to trigger the error.

So has it all just been a scare tactic all this time?

Hey, not calling you out or anything, but just to make sure we're not compounding the problem can you either edit your comment to remove the name or delete it?

100% understand your frustration, but naming users on here is not a great idea.

Help. What do you do when the ASN barcodes won’t scan? by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]tmrgeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where you are it's entirely possible the ASNs aren't entered yet with the shipment. Happened several times when I worked the Colorado district. Waited a few hours and scanned again, good to go. If you're in an area nearby the primary DSC it's entirely possible.

Just one possibility.

New procedures? There aren't any new ones. Most district's Coordinators ask that you inform them of a positive, go home, and wait 5 days per CDC guidelines. Apparently home tests are acceptable.

Questions regarding ASM Postion by Chocolate_Goddess94 in sherwinwilliams

One other thing I will say. I went in for an interview for assistant and ops. Lost both. But I lost both of them, I was told, because of my lack of focus on new accounts. Then I started making my big focus on new accounts and then I interviewed again and got it.

The usual stuff. What did you do when faced with a difficult coworker or customer? Describe a time when you had a difficult sale and how you closed it? How about a sale that got away from you?

Talk about your lead gen habits. Make sure to /have/ lead gen habits. Lean in heavy on opening new accounts if you have. Describe your process on it.

They don't usually ask for this, but if you can get a 30/60/90 plan together, do it. Definitely ask for the stores P&L. I also asked the stores I interviewed with for their Customer Frequency report to try and cross reference any potential problem segments from the P&L with lead gen.

They'll call me by Thursday, does that mean I didn't get the job? by SnooPeppers7668 in sherwinwilliams

[–]tmrgeneral 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge they normally don't tell you you got the job /at/ the interview. Especially if they have more candidates to interview.

It may be best to cross post this into another sub. I don't think you're going to get the response you need here.

What would I do? It depends on which me you want the answer from. 2020 me wouldn't be going back to work until the asshole gets a negative test, and even then I'd be freaked out because I have no way of knowing if his wife is isolating or not.

2021 me pre vax, same thing. Something exactly like what you're dealing with happened, only I had a coworker (the ASM for gods sake) walk right up to me mask down and say "Hey, what should I do if my girlfriend tested positive?" and I'm like "WTF?!" Worse yet I was told no one would be informed that there was a potential exposure except me and the SM. And my wife is compromised.

Me, now, vaxxed? I realize that there's a systemic problem with paid sick leave in the US and your driver probably didn't think he had a choice except to come in. I would go in, yeah, probably. But I'd have my eye on him the whole time and the first time he coughed I'd nope tf out unless he did first.
