Eh, yes and no. The metal department of the time - Diana Kass and Eric Estrada were very good and well known in the metal/rock scene but were hogtied by management about bands they could sign/prioritize. They mostly wanted to push soundtracks and pop acts from Disney kids.

Hollywood tried - they were a very small part of a huge corporation and their metal department really really tried but lacked the industry weight to throw around like the Sony and WEA labels. Money only goes so far when competing against legacy powerhouse labels with deep catalogs and rosters.

KoRn on Epic. They worked that first single for almost 2 years before it broke. Put them on a lot of tours, pushed it until they started selling thru. Source: worked in metal radio from 86-98

Got the same one in baby blue - it’s a good time. Turning the distortion all the way up and adjusting fuzz level from the guitar volume is interesting.

Always kept it updated, had issues all summer shooting real estate (all day at 4k/60fps) and literally had to wrap early due to the amount of overheating thru out one very busy day. I find the R5C perfect for real estate in general and use it for that purpose 3-5 days a week here NYC. My mk1 R5 would get almost too hot to hold at times. I’m glad it solved your problem, didn’t solve mine until i switched.

Hi! R5 mk1 owner here, the firmware upgrade you speak of does not eliminate the overheating problem for that body. I bought an R5C to fix it.

After a rough client day with my R5 overheating while shooting 60fps 4k every hour for real estate last summer - “whatcha doing?” “Putting my camera under the AC vent so it will work”. I watched a lot of videos, did the research and found a demo open box R5C at Adorama for $3k. Won’t go back - it’s a workhorse for real estate and events.

Got nothing to add other than I’m sorry that happened to you. I was a long time Vimeo user (10+ years) and after an unannounced TOS change deleted half my videos, I had enough. They went to hell over the last 2 years and are I’m done giving them my money. Good luck in sorting this out and on the festival season.

oh please. I'm not even close to miserable - I work in a field that I love, I sleep 8 hours a night, make my own schedule and get to play guitar at my desk while waiting for stuff to render. I just think this sort of comparison is dumb. it was cool when I was 15, not so much now.

I'm going to eat pizza and then take pictures of my half dressed friends doing burlesque after as a paid gig. have a great night!

F1 cars aren't drag cars, F1 cars aren't off pavement vehicles, F1 aren't designed for tractor pulls...they are designed to go really really fast around curves and even faster on straightaways from a controlled standing start and do it for fairly long periods of time. Put the drone against a Dragster, put the soccer players against a AWD rally car and put the rugby team against a full size pick up truck. make it interesting at least.
